Foster + Partners is designing Hotel 12, on the Ummahat AlShaykh Island in Saudi Arabia. Developed by the Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC), the project is one of two hotels on the island, the first being planned by Kengo Kuma.

Foster + Partners Designs Saudi Arabian Hotel in Sand Dunes
Foster + Partners has shared a new design for a hotel in Saudi Arabia set within sand dunes. Dubbed Southern Dunes, the project is part of The Red Sea Project tourist development. The hotel will include 40 villas that are constructed from timber and arranged to take advantage of surrounding views. Designed as part of the first phase of The Red Sea Project, it aims to be part of the world's "most ambitious" tourism development.

In 2021, as part of a collaboration between Mexican firms LEGORRETA and Taller Mauricio Rocha + Gabriela Carrillo, ground will be broken for the new Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo in Mexico. The new facility will sit on 800 hectares of Pacific Ocean coastline in the state of Jalisco, between La Manzanilla and Barra de Navidad. The area, called "Costa Alegre" or "Joyful Coast," is renowned for its private beaches, landscape, and geography.
3XN Designs Denmark’s First Climate-Positive Hotel on the Island of Bornholm
3XN/GXN have revealed their design for a new CO2 neutral and climate positive addition to the Hotel Green Solution House (Hotel GSH), in Rønne on the Danish island of Bornholm. Scheduled for 2021, the new wing including 24 rooms, a conference room, and a roof spa, is expected to provide a positive climate footprint when built, a novelty in Danish commercial buildings.
