The Pan-African Biennale (PAB) is a continental platform dedicated to documenting, preserving, and projecting Africa's built environment, urbanism, and creative futures— across all 54 nations and the diaspora.
It is the founding of a long-term continental institution, built to ensure that African architects, urbanists, artists, and communities are the authors of their own spatial and cultural narratives.

The Municipality of Pristina / Capital City has initiated a comprehensive and inclusive
planning process for the development of the Capital City Cemetery of Pristina,
conceived as a contemporary civic, memorial, landscape, and digital public
infrastructure of long-term importance.
The project aims to establish a new model for cemetery planning and funeral
infrastructure in Kosovo, based on:
• dignity,
• equality,
• coexistence,
• institutional professionalism,
• sustainability,
• digital governance,
• and respect for religious and cultural diversity.
The process has been developed through continuous dialogue and consultation with
representatives of religious communities, institutional stakeholders, technical experts,
and international partners.
The future cemetery complex is envisioned not merely as a burial ground, but as a
carefully designed landscape of memory, reflection, peace, coexistence, civic identity,
and long-term collective responsibility.

The Swiss Finance & Property Group (SFP Group) invites students of architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, spatial planning, and related disciplines to participate in the Walzwerk Student Design Competition, an international ideas competition exploring the future of one of Switzerland's most distinctive former industrial sites.

Invitation to participate in the III International Seminar on Territory, Urbanism, and Architecture Research (SIITUA III), an international event promoted by Revista U.Llaqta. The seminar is aimed at students, faculty, and researchers in architecture, urbanism, and related disciplines who wish to present their research in an academic forum with a global reach.

International architecture competition for the design of a contemporary thermal retreat located at the Blue Lagoon (Iceland). The project will serve as a tourist attraction focused on offering an immersive experience amidst water, rock, steam, and incredible landscapes.

The National Government of Ecuador, through the Ministry of Education, Sport, and Culture and with the technical advisory of the College of Architects of Ecuador (CAE-P), invites entries for the architectural design competition for the new National Museum of Ecuador building. Following the announcement of the first projects for the upcoming edition of the Concéntrico Festival in Logroño, scheduled for June 18–23, 2026, we are continuing to expand the program with new initiatives.

The General Secretariat for Urban Agenda, Housing, and Architecture of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda, in collaboration with the Arquia Foundation, is launching this ideas competition aimed at young architecture professionals up to 45 years of age. TAC! 2026 is supported by the Sestao City Council and the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), in partnership with the Barcelona City Council.

URBANBATfest is a festival that acts as a laboratory—or a laboratory that evolves into a festival. It is a research process focused on urban transformations and an environment for learning, experimentation, and collective creation designed to drive urban innovation.

In this new edition of URBANBATfest, under the theme "No future," we are opening a space for reflection on the future of cities. We are examining the responsibility of architecture and urban planning within this context of multidimensional crisis, their complicity and forms of resistance, their possibilities and limitations, their tools and working methodologies, their relationship with other disciplines, their areas of intervention, their capacity to create new imaginaries, and how to cohabit the present and the future.

The new Archstorming competition takes us to Mozambique, a country defined by endless, persistent challenges. Although there has been a substantial increase in household income, more than two-thirds of the population continues to live below the poverty line.

The call for academic papers for the upcoming 18th issue of rita_ journal is now open. Submissions in Spanish or Portuguese are welcome from faculty, graduate students, and professionals holding a master's or doctoral degree.

Aesthetics, as a reflection on the image, cannot be understood as an immutable discipline. The perception of aesthetic values—whether related to beauty or ugliness, harmony or imbalance—has been historically determined by social, scientific, or philosophical conditions.

Concéntrico 08, the International Festival of Architecture and Design in Logroño, Spain, returns for its new edition from September 1 to 6, 2022. The festival has been extended by two days to propose new collective uses that strengthen the concept of community in public spaces.

To promote sustainable construction in Latin America, the CEELA Project, in collaboration with the Colegio de Arquitectos del Ecuador - Pichincha, has established the "Social Habitat and Sustainability Award" for built projects and interventions as part of the BAQ 2022 Biennial Competition.

Since the beginning of the 20th century, Karl Marx’s famous dictum that "All that is solid melts into air" seems to have its own architectural trajectory associated with emerging ideas of lightness, transparency, and the dematerialization of the building, from Georgii Krutikov’s utopias for a flying city (1927) or Vladimir Tatlin’s Letatlin (1932), to H.G. Wells’s city of the future, governed by the "dictatorship of the air" (1936). "Maximum air - Minimum walls!" was Sigfried Giedion’s demand for transforming the old static sense of structure into renewed combinassions aériennes, and a new system of equilibrium in suspension that, in Konrad Wachsmann’s understanding, would transform the building into a breathing skin.

The Master's Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Oviedo, through its Transportation Engineering and Infrastructure department, is launching its fourth international ideas competition for students to solicit proposals for addressing issues related to transportation networks. The competition is supported by the Mieres City Council, and as such, it aims to intervene within its municipal boundaries.

Archstorming is launching a new competition in partnership with the NGO Kakolum. We will travel to Casamance, a region in Senegal marked by an identity conflict that began over 30 years ago and continues to this day. Located between The Gambia and Guinea-Bissau, this region faces several challenges, one of which is the lack of classrooms for primary and secondary school children.
