RED ARQUITECTURA invites you to participate in the international seminar 'Lessons in Architecture and the City | Exemplary Practices in Peru and Latin America'.

As part of the "Diálogos Arq" lecture series, the Architecture program's Critique Club at the University of Piura (UDEP) is hosting a lecture by Swiss architect Markus Breitschmid. Aimed at architecture students, architects, and the general public, the event will feature the guest speaker discussing his recent book, "Non-Referential Architecture." The event will take place on Thursday, August 1, 2019, at 7:00 PM in Room A-12 at the University of Piura (Lima Campus), located at Calle Mártir José Olaya 162, Miraflores.

“To make is to think”—a phrase we have taken from Richard Sennett’s book The Craftsman—summarizes our working system across the various projects developed for this exhibition. Architecture takes time; constructing a project can take years. It is these almost infinite moments that allow the architect to rethink their work, evolve it, sometimes contradict it, and at other times, perfect it. When we speak of architecture and ask ourselves what it is, we can recall the words of one of the great masters, Mies van der Rohe, who reminds us that “Architecture starts when you put together two bricks, carefully.” In other words, architecture begins with placing one brick next to another, but the detail lies in doing so with care.

From March 5 to 9, 2019, the second BAMBOO EXPERIENCE CAMP workshop will take place in Azpitia, an hour from Lima. This construction workshop is organized by Bamboo Green Cities as a social collaboration project that combines technical training in bamboo construction with community-focused goals, serving as a tool for change. On this occasion, Azpitia, in the Mala Valley, invites us to highlight its identity as a hub for bamboo, apples, and pisco.

In this new edition of 'Architectural Tour,' we will visit the Central Jungle of Peru (San Martín de Pangoa) to explore seven significant educational projects alongside Semillas, the architectural firm behind the designs.

Martes de Ruido is a short, informal discussion series lasting approximately 30 minutes. Featuring up to four sessions per day, it brings together national and international guests to address specific topics, fostering discussion and reflection.

This Friday, February 26, we will host the discussion "Public Works as Urban Infrastructure," where we will explore the importance of quality architecture within the public investment value chain and the role of public urban projects in structuring cities.

The 6th International Festival of Urban Interventions (FIIU6) is celebrating its sixth edition virtually and free of charge. The theme, "Citizen Urbanism in Times of Crisis," is inspired by the way cities adapted to the context of the ongoing pandemic throughout 2020.

The third Lima International Architecture Biennial will take place in November. This significant event seeks to recognize and reward the best practices in architecture and urbanism in the capital. It will feature the participation of the cities of Singapore and Shenzhen.
