CAT ANDES Lecture Series in Peru: Jan Gehl on the Livable Cities of the 21st Century

This international event is organized by the Faculty of Architecture - Department of Academic Direction (DDAA), the Postgraduate Unit of the UNCP, and the “El Cubo” collective in Huancayo, Peru. The event features keynote speaker Jan Gehl, one of the most influential figures in global urbanism. Through his work, he has championed the sustainability of major metropolises and made it his mission to advocate for urban planning that allows people, rather than automobiles, to reclaim the streets.

Lima Cómo Vamos, an institution with over a decade of experience, is calling for submissions of research and projects focused on our cities and their development. Selected research will be presented at the III Foro Ciudades Cómo Vamos, a platform for sharing approaches, evidence, and proposals with public authorities, private institutions, and the general public committed to improving the country’s cities and the quality of life of their inhabitants.

The panel will feature architect Dominic Papa, director and founder of Studio Woodroffe Papa, who brings over 27 years of experience in large-scale urban and architectural projects in the UK and abroad; and Anna Shapiro, associate partner at Sheppard Robson, an award-winning London-based firm responsible for a series of strategic urban projects covering housing, regeneration, biomedical and educational clusters, and a shift in focus toward retail-led integrated environments.

17th National Congress of Architects of Peru: Architecture and the City Since the Bicentennial

Nearly 4 million Peruvians lack housing or basic services (according to the UN), placing the country third in Latin America for social housing deficits. In search of solutions, the Colegio de Arquitectos del Perú, in collaboration with its Cusco Regional chapter, is organizing the 17th National Congress of Architects, titled “Architecture and the City Since the Bicentennial: 200 Years of Building the Peruvian Habitat—Evaluation and New Directions,” to be held from December 2 to 5 in the city of Cusco.

3rd World Native Architectures Festival: Callao, Conservation, Cuisine

The third edition of this traveling festival, organized by the Sarañani! School of Conservation of Fundación Altiplano, is underway. Limapolis 2023: The Right to Housing

After more than two years, Arquitectura PUCP (Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú) is pleased to announce the return of the Limapolis International Workshop in 2023. XII BIAU: Inhabiting the Margins in Lima

The XII Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (BIAU)—promoted by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA)—continues its traveling program in Peru with the exhibition XII BIAU: Habitar al Margen (Living on the Margins). The exhibition opened this Saturday as part of LIMAPOLIS 2023, an international workshop organized by the Faculty of Architecture at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). It is curated by Elizabeth Añaños—an architect and member of the XII BIAU jury—and José Luis Villanueva—Director of Architectural Studies at PUCP—to foster experimentation and reflection on the Right to Housing and living in Metropolitan Lima.

5th Cities: How Are We Doing Forum

The Ciudades Cómo Vamos Forum (FCCV) is a space for discovery and discussion regarding the present and future of cities in Peru. The forum aims to share and disseminate new approaches, evidence, and proposals from civil society, academia, and the government, with the goal of influencing improvements in the country's urban quality.
