To share our recent experience presenting at the BILT Europe 2018 conference (Ljubljana, Slovenia) and to introduce the services we are providing to companies in Concepción, CTI will host a free talk titled "World-Class BIM in Concepción."

This discussion aims to create a space for proactive dialogue, featuring various guest speakers alongside students and the general public, to address pressing issues regarding the city's future challenges.
We have invited four professionals who have led the coordination necessary to bring projects that foster social integration to fruition. The goal is for them to present each project as an example of urban best practice. Despite varying scales of intervention and diverse target users, these projects share a common thread: they serve as proactive contributions to the discussion on current and future urban challenges.

The launch of the 100th issue of ARQ magazine will take place on Friday, December 21, at 7:00 PM in the FADEU Auditorium. The event will feature commentary from Beatriz Bustos, Director of the Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda; Sebastián Gray, architect, columnist, and professor at the UC School of Architecture; and Cristóbal Molina, researcher and coordinator of the Architecture Department at the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Heritage.

This course explores the possibilities of light as an expressive and artistic medium and as a way to intervene in specific spaces. We will begin with the theory of light and optics, move on to the origins of projections and modern spectacle, illusionism, and artistic intervention, and conclude with projection and mapping techniques, examining the latest global developments in this field.

Santiago, January 5, 2018 – Chilean architect M. Pilar Pinchart presents an exhibition at Galería Pan Am showcasing the inquiries that have shaped her work over the last 10 years, synthesized into a conceptual installation on high-rise housing. The exhibition opens on January 11 and will remain on view for three weeks.

This seminar is positioned in the South, looking toward the South. It approaches the subject not only through the lens of architects but also through those of a biologist, a sculptor, and a documentarian. Together, they propose methodologies, approaches, processes, and discussions surrounding what is "available," while maintaining a global perspective. This allows us to discuss what it means to study architecture at a school in the southern part of the world, exploring concepts such as territory and landscape, material, precariousness, culture, craftsmanship, and remote locations, among others.

PROYECTO H documents the actions carried out by the Casagrande collective in 2013 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the coup d'état in Chile.

A course on timber structural design, organized by the startup ELIGEMADERA and the IDIEM of the University of Chile.
The course features prominent national experts in timber design. Several instructors participated in the most recent committee for the modification of current national regulations, while others are part of the team that developed C+T, the first software for timber structural calculation in Latin America.

The seventeenth edition of Materia Arquitectura magazine, an editorial project by the Faculty of Architecture and Art at Universidad San Sebastián directed by Mario Marchant, revolves around two fundamental instances in architectural production: the studio and the office. This issue, featuring Claudio Palavecino as guest editor, proposes an examination of these two central spaces through three dimensions: place, agents, and production.

Lecture by prominent Swiss architect Pascal Flammer as part of the second TES Workshop, which he will lead for the Master of Architecture program at UC. The lecture will be open to the public on October 11 at the Fernando Castillo Velazco auditorium. The final workshop presentation will take place on Friday, October 12, in the West Tunnel starting at 3:30 PM.

The Office of the Vice President for Outreach and Communications and the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Chile invite you to the presentation of the book Idea Política Pública at the 38th Santiago International Book Fair (FILSA 2018).

Following its debut in Zurich, the exhibition CLOUD68-Papeles y voces, an initiative by the Fundación de Arquitectura Frágil, will be presented in Santiago at the Patricia Ready Gallery.

Architecture, design, engineering, and innovation in wood take center stage at Wood Week 2018, where more than 100 projects from across Chile and Latin America will be presented to the jury. This showcase, which highlights wood in all its forms, will feature new regional ventures from Arica to Punta Arenas, as well as celebrate the work of female artisans who craft this noble material.

Featuring two talks on models that have driven societal change—spanning both urban development and technology—the Master’s in City, Anthropocene, and Built Environment at FAD U.Finis Terrae will host the "Models of Reality Transformation" event on Thursday, April 12, at 7:30 PM.

Eleven of Brazil's leading lighting companies will participate in the "La Luz de Brasil" exhibition at the Marriott Hotel on October 17. The event will feature architectural, industrial, and decorative lighting solutions, alongside talks, product showcases, and demonstrations of the technology currently being developed by the Brazilian industry.

The launch of the final ARQDOCS publication of 2018 will take place on Thursday, December 6, at 7:00 PM. The event will feature a keynote lecture by researcher, architect, and historian Beatriz Colomina at the FADEU Auditorium.

Researcher Rodrigo Contreras of the Millennium Institute of Astrophysics (MAS) will deliver this lecture as part of the "Architecture of Selection" series. Organized by the School of Architecture at Universidad Finis Terrae, the series will explore the theme of distance throughout the second semester of 2018.
