The Form of Form starts on the holiday that celebrates the implementation of the Portuguese Republic with exhibition openings, debates, book presentations and many other activities. The intensive programme of the opening week will give a sneak-peek into what will follow until 11 December. Choreographies, an installation at the 4th Lisbon Architecture Triennale by Pedro Alonso and Hugo Palmarola, presents the construction of building sites as cultural and political archetypes. By critically contesting comic films and animated cartoons released in the United States and the Soviet Union between 1921 and 1980, it presents construction sites as places in which ideology and imagination were combined through the choreographic movements of hanging steel-beams in the US, and flying concrete-panels in the USSR. These building components symbolize the construction of the modern world, the technological optimism of industrialization, the relevance of the building process over the completed building, and the standing of workers—welders, riveters and crane operators—against the vanishing figure of the architect.

Christian Kerez will close the 2nd Critical Distance cycle organized by the Lisbon Architecture Triennale. The Swiss architect is this year invited to represent his country at the 15th Venice Architectural Biennale. In his architecture, Kerez explores the structural elements as the most visible element of his buildings, strongly illustrated in projects such as a school in Leutschenbach, Switzerland, or a skyscraper in China.
Genoa Summer School 4 // Lisbon, July 21st - July 31st, 2016
Genoa Summer School is an international workshop ideated by Vittorio Pizzigoni and Valter Scelsi, and organized within the Department in Science for Architecture, Università degli Studi di Genova. This year the Genoa Summer School 4 is organized in collaboration with Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade de Lisboa, it will take place in Lisboa, Portugal, from July 21st to July 31st, 2016. The topic of the workshop is "Public Spaces." Ten days of intensive program exploring the power of architecture in reshaping the environment.
