Lisbon Architecture Triennale - The Form of Form

We’re only one month away from the 2016 Lisbon Architecture Triennale, The Form of Form. Join us in Lisbon for the opening week from October 5 to 9, and enjoy a full programme that celebrates architecture’s fundamental principles.

The world is transformed through architecture. This edition sets out to further the debate on contemporary approaches to architectural practice. We consider architecture as a profession that is always committed to its complex social context; this understanding expands the implications of architectural decisions, enhancing their technical and cultural importance in society. An extraordinary set of events will highlight the diversity of Lisbon’s urban landscape, inviting the public to explore unexpected places, discovering new routes in the city and its surroundings. The four main exhibitions are:

The Form of Form explores ideas of authorship and the visual universe originating from the architectural form, inviting visitors to a visually captivating experience.
Curated by Diogo Seixas Lopes

Building Site focuses on the processes, interests and contradictions affecting architectural forms in the decisive moment of their construction.
Curated by André Tavares

The World in Our Eyes presents different ways in which the urban and territorial conditions are represented, as well as the ability of these representations to guide the design process and expand architecture beyond its disciplinary boundaries.
Curated by FIG Projects

Sines: Seaside Logistics delves into the critical circumstances that influence the transformation of landscape in the city of Sines, bringing together projects developed by Portuguese students.
Curated by Marta Labastida and Rui Mendes
