Dean Judith DiMaio of New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) School of Architecture and Design and Associate Professor and Exhibitions Curator Naomi Frangos, are pleased to announce: UNDERSTANDING PLACE, an exhibition featuring internationally renowned Philadelphia architecture firm KieranTimberlake’s Dhaka Design-Research within University of Pennsylvania’s School of Design Masters of Architecture program.
This two-day symposium is co-sponsored with the MIT 2016 Committee and the MIT Department of Architecture. It will examine architecture and cultures at MIT and their influences on education and student life on campus. Speakers, including David Adjaye and Hashim Sarkis, will explore the prescient design of the original buildings and the interdisciplinary, innovative research that they fomented, as well as imagine the teaching and maker spaces of the future.
The Albertina is one of the most prominent collections in the world with over one million works covering six centuries of art history, from the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance to the present day. Its world famous Graphic Collection, rich in tradition, is by far the largest and most important department. The Architecture Collection of the Albertina is by no means less significant. It too spans across many periods, encompassing works by well-known architects. The exhibition in the Berlin Museum for Architectural Drawing allows a glimpse into this fantastic collection, showing hand drawn architecture across a wide spectrum with sketches, studies, vedute and project presentations by exceptional artists and architects such as Antonio Pisanello (1395–1455), Francesco Borromini (1599–1667), Hubert Robert (1733–1808), Egon Schiele (1890–1918), Hans Hollein (1934–2014) and Zaha Hadid (born 1950).

A Japanese Constellation: Toyo Ito, SANAA, and Beyond focuses on the work of architects and designers orbiting Pritzker Prize winners Toyo Ito and SANAA. MoMA’s first presentation dedicated solely to Japanese practitioners, the exhibition spotlights a small cluster of contemporary Japanese architects working within the larger field, exploring their formal inventiveness and close professional relationships to frame a radical model of practice in the 21st century.

Carnegie Mellon University's chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) will welcome hundreds of top architecture students and young professionals to Pittsburgh for the largest Quad Conference in the organization's history. The multi-day conference will explore urban renewal through the lenses of technology, sustainability, public interest design, and the arts using Pittsburgh as a powerful example of post-industrial resilience. Built by Women D.C. (BxW DC) is a crowd-sourced competition organized by the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation (BWAF) to recognize and support the diverse women working in design and construction. These debates take the form of an open-table discussion which encourages the audience to participate at any time. AAgora's third debate will be "Pret A Habiter" - or, Ready to Inhabit - Towards Nomadic Homogeneity, in the city through the sharing economy and Airbnb.
Architecture as Catalyst is an annual week-long event, bringing new ideas, conversations, and expertise to the school by inviting guests from around the world to run experimental workshops with graduate students and give public lectures on their work. Each year, the week before spring break, first and second year graduate architecture students engage with the guests and host faculty in intensive five-day workshops, each focused around a unique set of ideas and techniques.
