    Drifts through Ciudad Juárez

DERIVAS proposes, through the lens of a place's everyday life and the serendipity of tourism, to understand and construct new and alternative ways of living and thinking about urban life.

    Urban Reflections

We are beginning the year with an engaging lecture featuring Juan Miró of Miró Rivera Architects, visiting from Austin, TX. Together with architect Alejandro Ibarra Aragón of Ibarra Aragón Arquitectura SC, they are developing a series of projects in Monterrey that will transform key areas of the city center. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, January 23, at 7:30 p.m. at the Colegio de Arquitectos de Nuevo León.

        Experimental Architecture Studio

This is an intensive three-week design workshop (the first week in Querétaro, the second—four days in San Miguel de Allende—and the third, concluding week in Querétaro), held from June 10 to June 28, 2019. As a highly relevant hub—not only for its regional importance but also for its recent growth—the goal of this workshop is to conduct a critical study of the context and, based on various variables, develop a significant project.
The proposed content covers three fundamental themes:

The unique AnA format offers a personal look into the architecture of renowned international firms. Speakers follow one rule: they cannot discuss their projects. Instead, the event focuses on their careers, influences, and key experiences, sharing the intellectual biography that has shaped the architects they are today.

3D Cyberspaces Workshop: Creation of Spaces and Virtual Environments in UNITY

The need for developing 3D digital environments has grown significantly following the pandemic and the imminent digitization of many processes previously conducted in person, transforming how we interact with objects, spaces, and people. This course provides the foundations for building 3D spaces using the Unity platform. Participants will learn how to sketch, conceptualize, and execute ideas within this medium, while also understanding the creative and logistical logic involved in creating these spaces. We will progress from basic concepts to intermediate and advanced levels of production. You will create your own space featuring advanced graphics. You will learn to generate and texture terrain, apply lighting, and import your own creations into your project. Furthermore, the course is designed to encourage creative practice. We will create first-person executable projects ready for web deployment, while also exploring the optimal conditions for hosting them online. We will build basic menus and learn to utilize and optimize free assets to develop more complex, feature-rich projects. Additionally, each project will be reviewed to address individual needs, ensuring your ideas are successfully translated to the screen and the web.
