I. M. Pei and the Making of the Museum of Islamic Art: From Square to Octagon and Octagon to Circle, jointly organised by the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) and the future Art Mill Museum (AMM), is an in-depth exploration of his design for one of Doha's most celebrated landmarks. Opening to the public on 30 October 2025, together with I. M. Pei: Life Is Architecture, the exhibitions will offer an unprecedented dual perspective on the internationally acclaimed architect.

I. M. Pei: Life Is Architecture, presented in collaboration with M+ Hong Kong, at Al Riwaq, is the first full-scale retrospective of Pei's seven-decade career. Opening to the public on 30 October 2025, together with I. M. Pei and the Making of the Museum of Islamic Art: From Square to Octagon and Octagon to Circle, the exhibitions will offer an unprecedented dual perspective on the internationally acclaimed architect.

Under the title Sent l'Arquitectura – Feel the Architecture – the sixteenth edition of 48h Open House Barcelona invites everyone to reflect on their sensory experience of space. For one weekend only, the most important architecture festival in the Barcelona metropolitan area once again opens doors that are usually closed, and more importantly, opens conversations about how we inhabit, perceive and transform the spaces around us.

Open House Valencia returns for its seventh edition from 24 to 26 October, opening the doors of more than seventy buildings across the city and beyond. The programme will feature around twenty urban tours and a wide range of activities, including talks, technical visits, workshops, exhibitions, and cultural activities for all audiences. For the first time, the festival will expand beyond the city itself, with several guest municipalities joining the initiative and contributing their own itineraries, helping to broaden the event's regional reach.

How Heavy is a City? This question instigates a three-year research project into the complex set of transformations of both the city and its backdrop, revealing a new figure in the making with a magnitude of planetary dimensions. To make sense of these transformations and sort out the underlying agencies, a re-assembly of architecture and what it means to build a collective environment is required.

The SOAS Gallery and the Shapoorji Pallonji Institute of Zoroastrian Studies presents a new major solo exhibition of Karl Singporewala's sculptural interpretations of Zoroastrian symbolism. The exhibition features large-scale architectural installations and new and past models, maquettes and artworks from his catalogue which explore his heritage through art and architectural form. It will also showcase historic objects on loan from cultural institutions and private collectors.

Epistle announces the second edition of the Epistle Writing Prize, following its launch in 2024. The prize is an annual competition dedicated to recognising outstanding writing on design, architecture and environment. Celebrating the power of the written word, participants are invited to inform, intrigue or persuade readers by presenting novel arguments or interesting narratives on the built environment. Stemming from Epistle's mission to democratise architectural discourse, the prize seeks to highlight compelling voices and stories from the Global South, bringing attention to previously unheard perspectives.

How can design move beyond aesthetics to advance human and environmental well-being? This panel discussion brings together leading voices in design to explore the role of creativity and innovation in shaping healthier, more sustainable futures. Moderated by acclaimed design journalist Adrian Madlener, the conversation will feature Lisa Gralnek (iF Design), Sergio Silva (Humanscale), and Suchi Reddy (Reddymade). Hosted by iF Design and Humanscale, the evening will include drinks, networking, and thought-provoking dialogue.

Architecture can give form to those stories, offering a way to express culture, ideas, and identity without relying on words. A pavilion, in its simplicity and scale, is an ideal format for this kind of expression. It invites reflection, exploration, and dialogue. It is not about size or permanence, but about clarity of thought and the power of a spatial idea.

Open House Tallinn is an annual architecture festival that opens the doors of the city to everyone curious about what lies behind them. For one weekend each autumn, residents and visitors are invited to explore the stories of Tallinn through buildings, landscapes, and urban spaces that are not always accessible to the public.
