Pasadena Heritage is proud to present a new version of our annual Spring Home Tour. Instead of a one-day event, tours of six architectural works of art will be offered as a series. Recordings of two different home tours will premiere on the last Sundays of April, May and June. Recordings will be available through July 4.

The city of Pasadena is home to some of the most notable examples of architect-designed properties from Craftsman style to Mid-Century and everything in between. Explore architectural style and design over five decades and learn the connections and differences that illustrate how architecture changed through time. Join us from the comfort of your own home for this year’s Fall education event, Preservation Pasadena: Craftsman to Modern.

Tour extraordinary historic homes as Pasadena Heritage presents Wallace Neff, Master Architect.

On December 30th, 2019, Pasadena Heritage invites you and your holiday guests to take walking tours featuring some of Pasadena’s unique architectural treasures and/or visit Pasadena Heritage’s 1893 headquarters to see a presentation featuring Pasadena’s historic architecture in the movies! Attendees have the opportunity to participate in two different walking tours and the movie presentation, each with a 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. start time!

Old Pasadena has gone from drab and dingy to a shopping and dining destination. Without Pasadena Heritage, this National Register Historic District would have been destroyed! Now it is one of the finest examples of downtown revitalizations in
 the country. Let one of our trained docents lead you through the historic neighborhood and reveal its many hidden and unusual architectural details, old alleyways, and historic signs.

In its 27th year, Pasadena Heritage will present the Annual Craftsman Weekend on November 9-11, 2018. The weekend will feature house tours of notable Craftsman properties, along with bus and walking tours of the surrounding neighborhoods. Other events scheduled include a 'Show and Sale' with exhibitors of antique and contemporary furniture and decorative arts, a silent auction, workshops, and presentations. In addition, Pasadena Heritage will be offering exclusive receptions at historic locations throughout the weekend.

The Governor Markham Landmark District is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the City of Pasadena, and residences included in the District parallel Pasadena’s growth from incorporation as a city in 1886. Ninety-four percent of the homes were constructed between 1891 and 1933. This area became an official Landmark District in 2005 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012, nominated by Pasadena Heritage.

The SAH 2016 Annual International Conference will take place in Pasadena/Los Angeles, April 6-10, with the theme New Local/Global Infrastructures. The conference will engage participants from around the world with the rich, evolving legacy of the region’s built environment. With the scheduled completion of the Metro Expo Light-Rail Line west to Santa Monica in early 2016, Pasadena will be connected to downtown LA and the rest of Los Angeles County. This infrastructure, building on historic right-of-ways, will provide new ways to see the broad range of the region’s architecture and urbanism.

Lecture, presentation and panel discussion on the newly published book “Building Paradise in California” about the role that David and Mary Gamble played in creating their winter home and garden with the famed Greene brothers.

Funded by the Getty Foundation, The Society of Architectural Historians (SAH) is offering between 14-16 grants to attend the SAH 2016 International Conference. Application will be open to professionals in the field of the “built environment,” including heritage conservation specialists, academics and museum professionals who work with the history of the built environment.The conference will be taking place in Pasadena/Los Angeles, California from April 6-10.
