To mark its 30th anniversary, the studio is transforming the public space in front of its headquarters on Avenida Infante Santo into a free exhibition. Thirty large-format panels, designed to resemble giant bookmarks, present 30 projects that have defined the studio's journey back to the city.

Launched last year in Spain and presented internationally for the first time in Milan, Italy, during Milan Design Week, the Arquitetura em Curtas initiative is a series of short films on innovation and trends in contemporary architecture. Its goal: to promote video as a medium for narrating architectural processes.

Francisco Nogueira will open the exhibition "Man Made" at the Art Room in Lisbon next Thursday, June 21, from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM.

ISCTE-IUL is organizing an important initiative titled "Diving into the South of Raúl Hestnes Ferreira" (a Portuguese architect), which will take place on June 4, 5, and 6, 2018. The event will consist of a trip bringing together researchers, professionals, and architecture students to reflect on the ways of designing, building, teaching, and experiencing the architecture of Raúl Hestnes Ferreira. This year, which coincides with his passing at the age of 86, we intend to revisit a significant collection of the architect's works located south of Lisbon. Alongside the visits, reflections, and testimonies from collaborators who participated in the various projects, the goal is to revive the memory of Raúl Hestnes Ferreira's unique and transcultural journey between Portugal, Finland, and the United States.

ALA and AOR are the guest speakers for this conference, taking place on April 11, 2018, at the Palácio Sinel de Cordes, the headquarters of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale. Both architecture firms operate within the Finnish context, a country with a very high Human Development Index (HDI), currently ranked 23rd globally. Erkko Aarti, founding partner, will present the work of AOR Architects, while Antti Nousjoki will showcase projects by ALA Architects. The discussion will be moderated by Paula Melâneo, editor-in-chief of J—A Jornal Arquitectos.

The MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology) in Lisbon is launching its 2018 program with two exhibitions: Supergood – Dialogues with Ernesto de Sousa and Welcome to the City of Fear, which address the work of Ernesto de Sousa and the financial crisis that affected New York in the 1970s, respectively.

The realization and life of cities are reflections of the power and decision-making structures of the societies that sustain them. Given this, in a patriarchal society, can we expect women to have effective space, voice, and agency in the decisions that shape their daily lives?

"For us a book is a small building" is the title of the exhibition Fernanda Fragateiro is presenting at Galeria BAGINSKI. The title draws on a quote by British architect Alison Smithson that holds significant meaning within Fragateiro’s body of work, effectively serving as a synthesis of her artistic practice. The exhibition focuses on Robin Hood Gardens, an iconic social housing project designed by Alison and Peter Smithson, whose recent demolition—condemned by architects, artists, and critics—represents the erasure of a period defined by significant social policies in the United Kingdom.

The Roca Lisboa Gallery invites you to attend the first session of the conversation series "Spaces for Women Architects," organized by Roca and the Association of Women in Architecture.

The ARQUITETURAS FILM FESTIVAL LISBON—the only international film and architecture festival in Portugal—will hold its 6th edition from June 6 to 10 at the Fórum Lisboa and Cinema City Alvalade.

In Portuguese architecture, the quest to understand the slow integration of women into the profession is a recent discussion. However, debates regarding Women in Architecture or the relationship between feminism and architecture began at least in the 1970s and extend beyond women's rights. They have materialized through meetings, literature, and individual and collective paths that contribute to the theoretical and practical transformation of architecture.
