Re-thinking The Future (RTF) was born from the idea of creating a new window on international trends in architecture and design that looks on to radical solutions for the present day problems facing the domain. RTF is a hub of services for architecture and design. This year, RTF is presenting ‘International Design Student Awards 2016’ to give voice to design and architecture students from all over the world and discovering a new talent.

Applications are open for the Art Residency Grants in Oficinas do Convento - Cultural Association for Art and Communication (OC) in Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal. We have launched three vacancies for Art Residencies to take place between September and December 2016.

This Contest for Grants by OC intends to implement a self-funded programme through the application fees. The application have a 20 euros fee and this amount will be used to create the three Residencies.

From 4/1/2016 through 5/31/2016, up-and-coming Landscape Architects can compete for the opportunity to visit New Orleans and attend the 2016 ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects) Meeting & Expo. Twenty-one winners will each be awarded $2,000 to help cover attendance, as well as receive national recognition.

For over 20 years the American Institute of Architects UK Chapter 'Excellence in Design Awards' programme has proven highly valued by architects as they confer trans-Atlantic recognition for design excellence. Professional entries are sought from architects, industrial designers, urban planners, landscape architects and interior designers based in Britain, and from around the world for completed projects in the UK.

The SAH/Mellon Author Awards are designed to provide financial relief to scholars who are publishing their first monograph on the history of the built environment, and who are responsible for paying for rights and permissions for images or for commissioning maps, charts or line drawings in their publications.

Applications for the SAH/Mellon Author Awards will be considered only for book-length, scholarly manuscripts on architectural history and the history of the built environment that are currently under contract with a publisher. Awards are made solely in support of image acquisition or creation, such as for reimbursement of costs for the reproduction

With the growth of new development and renovation in our two boroughs in the past five years, our professional associations are excited to collaborate on this event to celebrate the contributions of the design professions to the urban environment we all share.

In its inaugural year, the Brooklyn + Queens Design Awards (BQDA) program has been established to encourage excellence in architectural design, to raise public awareness of the built environment and to honor the architects, owners and builders of significant projects within the two boroughs. It is the goal and collaboration of the AIA Brooklyn and AIA Queens Chapters to promote chapter members and affiliates through the display of their design and service accomplishments.

The A’ Design Award is an international award whose aim is to provide designers, architects and innovators from all architecture and design fields with a competitive platform to showcase their work and products to a global audience. The 2014-2015 competition awarded 836 winners from 83 countries in 89 different design, product and architecture disciplines. The sheer number of represented countries and tremendous breadth of design disciplines marks the A’ Design Award as the World’s largest design accolade bringing together enterprises, architects, and designers from across the globe. The award winning designs are granted the coveted A’ Design Prize, which not only includes the beautiful award trophy but also an unmatched publicity package to promote the selected designs. Annual AIA National Photography Competition is open to all actively registered architects in the US, AIA members, Assoc. AIA members and member of student organizations of AIA.

Deadline is April 1, 2016.

Subject must be of architecture and taken by the entrant; color or black & white accepted.

14 top winners will be exhibited at AIA National Convention in Philadelphia and note cards made from those winners.

AIA New York’s annual Design Awards Program recognizes outstanding architectural design by AIA New York Chapter members, New York City based architects in any location, and work in New York City by architects around the globe. The purpose of the awards program is to honor the architects, clients, and consultants who work together to achieve design excellence.

The 2016 SEGD Global Design Awards, the only international awards program focused on user experiences in the built environment, opened for entries today. The deadline for submissions is February 21st 2016.

Since 1987, the SEGD Global Design Awards have set the standard of excellence for Environmental Graphic Design and Experiential Graphic Design—honoring design work that connects people to place by providing direction, content, and compelling experiences in public spaces.

ZGF is a nationally recognized architecture, planning, and interior design firm with a long commitment to the critical collaboration of architectural education and professional practice. In place since 2004, this scholarship is intended to recognize and foster students who have demonstrated a talent and passion for architecture.

$10,000 will be awarded to one scholarship recipient; a currently enrolled student, entering their final year in a graduate or undergraduate level, NAAB accredited, architecture program in the fall of 2016.
