Castro Abierto Festival 2022: Architecture, Landscape, and Heritage

Castro Abierto is an architecture, landscape, and heritage festival that aims to highlight local construction culture, its contemporary expressions, and the memories embedded in the urban and rural archipelago landscape of the Castro commune. Exhibition: The Neighborhood of Our Own / The Pedestrian Reconquest

The NGO La Reconquista Peatonal (LRP) seeks to highlight people's experiences in the city, particularly through walking. To this end, it collects walkers' experiences through mobile paper journals that individuals receive, complete, and return with observations, perceptions, and daily experiences in the city. This process has generated over a thousand journals containing diverse records and relevant information on the multiple relationships between people and their environments, highlighting subjective aspects often overlooked in the urban sphere, such as memory, identity, and affection.
