"Maurice and I" by Rick Harvie and Jane Mahoney (New Zealand) and "Spaces written by light" by Judith Oláh (Hungary) took home the awards for best feature and best short film, respectively. The festival also recognized the best architectural record, highlighted a standout Chilean film, and honored the work most representative of emotional architecture. These highlights and more defined the 6th edition of the Architecture Film Festival Santiago.
The 22nd SIACOT, the Ibero-American Seminar on Architecture and Construction with Earth, will be held in La Serena, Chile, in November 2024, continuing the legacy of the 21 seminars initially organized by the Proterra Research Project (2001–2006). Since 2006, SIACOT has been organized by the Ibero-American PROTERRA Network, which emerged from the aforementioned project. It has since become one of the network's primary activities and has established itself as the most significant Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking gathering focused on architecture and construction with earth. To date, SIACOT has been held in Brazil, Spain, Argentina, Portugal, Uruguay, Peru, Chile, El Salvador, Ecuador, Paraguay, Bolivia, Guatemala, Mexico, and Cuba. Its most recent edition, held in Colombia, brought together more than 300 participants.
Presentation and conversation with architect Jessica Martínez, researcher at the Technological University of Havana and heritage restoration architect, currently a doctoral candidate in Architecture and Urbanism at UBB. The talk draws on her professional experience as an architect at a firm responsible for the rehabilitation and restoration of Havana's historic center, as well as community projects in Cuba. The goal is to explore and share practical experiences and social contexts from various Latin American realities to broaden the architectural and disciplinary horizon. Founded in 2023 by designer Trinidad Davanzo and architect Camilo Palma, Holder Objects blurs the lines between an editorial platform, a design shop, and a gallery. Its constantly evolving catalog features a curated selection of furniture and artistic objects for everyday use, promoting prominent designers from Latin America.
Universidad San Sebastián (Chile) has invited Belgian architect Kersten Geers, an international reference for his professional and academic practice, to lead the third edition of the EA USS Workshop in Santiago. Geers will also participate in a series of debates with participants, a conversation with the prominent architect and academic Enrique Walker, and a keynote lecture presenting his work and reflections on the discipline.
In this context, Chilean and Latin American universities are invited to join the experience by participating with teams composed of five undergraduate students and one or two faculty advisors.

The School of Architecture at the Universidad San Sebastián, Concepción campus, is organizing the exhibition "Modern Architecture: Environmental Control Elements in Educational Architecture in Brazil, Chile, and Mexico."
