Chile's Cultural Heritage Day is an annual event that offers the general public the opportunity to discover and enjoy the country's cultural, historical, and architectural heritage. Established in 1999, Cultural Heritage Day is a tradition spanning over 20 years, which in recent editions has brought together more than a million people across the country to share, learn, and marvel at the heritage and cultural activities organized specifically for the occasion.

On March 16, in an effort to protect public health and reduce the transmission of COVID-19 in Peru, the country declared a mandatory quarantine. Under this exceptional measure, all residents must remain in their homes until—for the time being—April 26, refraining from going to work and limiting their movement in public spaces. The restructuring of urban life is already striking: streets and public gathering spaces like plazas, parks, and beaches that were once overflowing with people are now completely empty.

In anticipation of the Latin American Architecture Congress—an annual event hosted by the University of Morón that seeks to create a space for exchange and reflection among architecture professionals, academics, and students from across Latin America, Spain, and Portugal—the UMFADAU (Faculty of Architecture, Design, Art, and Urbanism at the University of Morón), in collaboration with its various departments and faculty, is hosting a series of open streaming lectures featuring prominent figures from the worlds of architecture and design.

Big Data refers to data that, due to its quantity and complexity, requires specific applications in order to be processed. New trends in urbanism, data collection, and management, not to mention the development of new platforms and tools, have given rise to a new era in urban analysis, creating new resources to understand, evaluate, and manage the evolution of cities.

Proyecto Taller is a documentary series that aims to debate, reflect on, and examine architectural teaching and learning methods, seeking to define their points of contact and overlap with professional practice. Within this ambiguity between making and teaching how to make architecture, many architects have managed to integrate their careers as designers with their work as educators in academic environments, where they teach students how to design.

The Architects' Association of the Province of Córdoba has called on architects across the province to collectively contribute ideas to address the current challenges associated with the spread of COVID-19—primarily the lack of adequate healthcare space to treat patients as the disease spreads—seeking to create a space for collective development nourished by the discipline's expertise to offer a response to society through the field of architecture.

Since March 20, the Argentine government has taken drastic measures to protect the public and curb the spread of COVID-19, including mandatory social isolation. Under these measures, residents and anyone visiting the country must remain indoors and abstain from visiting public spaces until the March 31.

Perhaps nowhere are the effects of the quarantine more notable than on the streets. All cultural, recreational, athletic, and religious events have been cancelled. Public areas like plazas and parks are ghost towns. With the streets closed, balconies have become the new platforms for everything from social interactions and celebrations to protests.

The lobby, also known as the entrance hall or vestibule, is a reception space adjacent to the entrance of a residential building or private home, serving as a transition zone between the public urban environment and the private program.

Typically located on the ground floor of buildings and closely linked to the street, the lobby acts as the project's "public face" to the outside world. Consequently, its design, material qualities, aesthetics, and component elements are of great significance. Its function remains highly flexible, serving as a space for gatherings, receptions, or waiting.

The winners of the Ecoparque Las Piedras Public Competition (Uruguay) have been announced. Organized by the Government of Canelones and sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Territorial Planning, and Environment (MVOTMA) and the Society of Architects of Uruguay (SAU), the call invited participants to design proposals to transform a large sector of the city of Las Piedras into an urban park.

The winners of the competition for Projects to enhance the archaeological site of the Andalusi suburb of Arrixaca and the San Esteban Garden in Murcia (Spain) have been announced. Organized by the Ministry of Development, the call invited participants to devise proposals to protect the valuable Arrixaca Archaeological Site while creating a new public space for the community.

Just 2 months ago, the city of Wuhan, China announced the construction of Wuhan Huoshenshan Hospital, adding 1,000 beds, 30 ICUs, and new isolation wards to the city's medical arsenal to combat the Coronavirus epidemic. The building was completed in under 10 days by a team of 7,000 construction workers, a far cry from the reality many countries are facing as they scramble to quell the outbreak and wrestle with the shortcomings of their own healthcare systems. With over 14,000 dead and more than 300,000 infected worldwide, not to mention a shortage of medical supplies and facilities, health systems across the globe are feeling the strain of preparing for a crisis.

The winners of the 'Proyectar a Conciencia' 3.0 competition have been announced. This competition invited participants to design proposals to revitalize the most important public spaces in the city of La Merced, the capital of Chanchamayo, Junín, Peru.

The winners of the Berlin Architecture Museum International Ideas Competition have been announced. The open call invited students and young architects from around the world to design an Architecture Museum for the city of Berlin—a building whose primary mission is to disseminate architectural culture and to transmit and generate knowledge about the discipline, while honoring the immense value of Berlin's architectural and urban heritage.
