Chile's Cultural Heritage Day is an annual event that offers the general public the opportunity to discover and enjoy the country's cultural, historical, and architectural heritage. Established in 1999, Cultural Heritage Day is a tradition spanning over 20 years, which in recent editions has brought together more than a million people across the country to share, learn, and marvel at the heritage and cultural activities organized specifically for the occasion.
Due to the health emergency affecting Chile and the world, the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage chose to postpone the commemoration as it is traditionally known. However, in times of social distancing, culture and heritage—as spaces for community connection—become even more relevant. Consequently, the invitation is to continue this tradition on the last weekend of May, this time from home as part of Heritage at Home Day.
