The Design Matters Conference presented by the Association of Architecture Organizations is the world’s only dedicated annual meeting that seeks to bring top designers, journalists and civic leaders into exploratory dialogue with those not-for-profit professionals and volunteers charged with creating cultural programs (exhibitions, tours, lectures and symposia, festivals and films, youth outreach) to spur broader public interest in architecture and design.
For two days each October, Open House New York Weekend unlocks the doors of New York City’s most important buildings, offering an extraordinary opportunity to experience the city and meet the people who design, build and preserve New York.

XX OSSA (National Meetings of Architecture Students) International Architectural Workshops
OSSA architectural workshop is a yearly initiative of the Polish Association of Architecture Students. This year’s edition will take place between October 15th to 23rd in Zakopane. From 1997 the workshop OSSA is organized by architecture students as a grass roots initiative aiming to broaden skills by exchange of experience and cooperation with best architects, as well as artists, sociologists and activists working in Poland and abroad. The idea of the workshop appeared to be so intriguing and timeless that constantly for 20 years now we gather not only during the workshop, but on plein-air events, competitions and didactic trips

The Ball will offer a rare inside look at the raw and in-progress 23,000 square-foot A/D/O space designed by Brooklyn-based nARCHITECTS. Responding to this year's theme, Ultramoderne will design a site-specific installation and Wild Dogs International will develop projection-mapped installations to be displayed throughout the space. Fredrik Berselius of Aska will create a menu of light fare.

The American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) returns fall event programming to the calendar beginning in 2016. In conjunction with the organization’s 60th anniversary, the AIAS will be presenting four AIAS Fall Research Symposium for students in each AIAS Quad. The events are an effort to provide student members with training opportunities centered on designing, funding, performing, and presenting effective research projects. The Society of Architectural Historians will host its 70th Annual International Conference in Glasgow, Scotland, from June 7–11, 2017. Meeting in Glasgow reflects the increasingly international scope of the Society and its conference, and we expect SAH members from all over the world to join us in Scotland's largest city, world renowned for its outstanding architectural heritage. This is the first time that SAH has met outside North America since 1973, when it planned a joint meeting in Cambridge with the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain. Architectural historians, art historians, architects, museum professionals and preservationists from around the world will convene to present new research on the history of the built environment. The Glasgow conference will include 36 paper sessions, an introductory address, a plenary talk, roundtable discussions, a public seminar, public architecture tours, and special events.
