We are excited to invite submissions for DARK MATTER: Revisiting the Architecture of Coal in Post-War Europe, an in-person conference hosted by the ACME (Architecture of Coal in Modern Europe) project (ERC Advanced Grant, 2024–2030), taking place at the Irish Architectural Archive, Dublin on 5+6 November 2026.

United Visual Artists have created the first exhibition in the new contemporary space of Casa Batlló. The work of UVA, a multidisciplinary London-based studio founded by Matt Clark in 2003, encompasses moving images, audiovisual environments, installations, printed works, and kinetic sculptures.

The BIG SEE Festival returns on May 21-22, 2026, to Portorož, Slovenia, as the leading architecture and product design platform in South-East Europe, bringing together architects, designers, brands, and decision-makers from across the world. Formerly known as BIG Architecture and BIG Design, the unified BIG SEE Festival reflects an expanded ambition: to frame architecture and design as critical tools for navigating complexity, responsibility, and change.

Mission Presentation
Taller & Patrimoine is an association with an international scope whose mission is to link the preservation of architectural and cultural heritage with environmental sustainability. Through the Rural Laboratory project, it has been carrying out continuous work for the past two years in Bécal, Mexico, focusing on the restoration of traditional Maya dwellings and the revaluation of traditional construction knowledge as living spaces of identity and sustainability.

To celebrate the Architectural Heritage Fund's 50th anniversary, we have put together 50 Years of Reimagining Heritage, which tells the story of the difference heritage reuse can make in people's lives and in communities. Across the year, our exhibition will travel to each part of the UK, with openings in Belfast, Glasgow, Cardiff and London. We hope by showcasing these extraordinary stories to inspire more people to get involved in saving local historic buildings to improve places, empower people, and secure a sustainable future for built heritage. The Dallas Architecture Forum, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing public education about architecture, design, public space and the urban environment, continues its 2025-2026 Lecture Series on Thursday, February 19, 2026. The Forum is pleased to present highly-respected architect and educator Hilary Sample of the award-winning firm MOS. This lecture will be held at the Angelika Film Center at Mockingbird Station in Dallas, Texas. Forum members may attend for free. Tickets for non-members will be available at the door - $5 for Students (with student ID), $25 General Admission. Check-in and pre-Lecture Reception will begin at 6:15 pm in the lobby of the Angelika.

Regenerative placemaking is an approach to shaping places that prioritises long-term social, cultural and environmental health, not just short-term activation, footfall or commercial performance. It looks at how places can continue to give back to the people and communities who use them over time, rather than extracting value and moving on.

Cabin Fever is an international summer school and festival launched by the Hungarian architecture studio Hello Wood, known for its design-build approach and community-focused, sustainable projects. Since its founding in 2010, Hello Wood has become a global platform merging hands-on education with socially engaged architecture.

"Projecting Future Heritage: A Hong Kong Archive," one of the Roving Architecture Exhibitions organized by The Hong Kong Institute of Architects Biennale Foundation under the sponsorship of the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, held its ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, 31 January, at the Former Residence of Prince Sawasdiprawat (Sommot Amornbhand) in Bangkok. Unveiled at the Hong Kong Pavilion at the Biennale Architettura 2025 in Venice, where it garnered widespread international attention, this Roving Exhibition series brings Hong Kong's archive of civic architectures to Bangkok. Responding to the theme of the Biennale Architettura 2025, 'Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective', the exhibition's curators Fai Au, Ying Zhou, and Sunnie S.Y. Lau highlight the collective 'intelligens' of Hong Kong's public infrastructures that represents the Hong Kong's shifting paradigms.

Raymond Johansen was Governing Mayor of Oslo from 2015 to 2023, a period in which the city advanced policies linking climate objectives with urban management and development. During his mandate, Oslo incorporated environmental criteria into mobility planning, public space design, and municipal procurement, influencing how the city plans and builds. In his lecture within the series "Re_Solution" at IE School of Architecture&Design, Johansen will address his role in developing clean construction policies and the introduction of zero-emission construction sites within this broader framework. His experience provides insight into how municipal governance can affect the built environment through regulatory, technical, and administrative decisions.

Each month, Friends of Residential Treasures Los Angeles (FORT: LA) curates a new self-guided trail, inviting Angelenos to explore the city’s rich architectural heritage. These immersive experiences highlight significant homes, hidden gems, and the designers who have shaped Los Angeles' built environment.

Crest is a student-led, design-build installation produced by F_RMlab at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture for Winter Stations 2026, an international competition transforming Toronto’s lifeguard stations into immersive works of public art. This year’s theme, Mirage, invited participants to address the “boundary of what is seen and what is real in the age of AI”, exploring art as a medium that disengages from the digital world by immersing audiences in shared, tactile experiences.

This May, Building Trust International will host a Design + Build workshop in Italy in partnership with Semplicemente, an Italian volunteer organization formed by people with disabilities who promote inclusion, autonomy and respect for the environment through collective and creative activities.
