A’ Design Award & Competition is the world’s leading international annual juried competition for design. Global Design Competition for a Nature Park & Pedestrian Bridge in Mumbai

UPDATE: The submission deadline has been changed to February 7th, 2016.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is looking for multi-disciplinary design teams that are capable of designing and delivering a technically demanding and environmentally sensitive makeover in the heart of India’s Financial Capital, Mumbai. There are no competition fees to be paid and all submissions will be exclusively done through the competition portal. Five shortlisted entries from the first stage will each receive Rs. 5,00,000 and the eventual winner will receive Rs. 50,00,000 as part of a contract.

The Architectural League Prize 2016: (im)permanence

Young architects and designers are invited to submit work to the annual Architectural League Prize Competition. Projects of all types, either theoretical or real, and executed in any medium, are welcome. The jury will select work for presentation in lectures, digital media, and an exhibition in June 2016. Winners will receive a cash prize of $2,000. A catalogue of winning work will be published by The Architectural League.

Call for Entires: Museum of Capitalism Architecture Competition

The Museum of Capitalism is an institution dedicated to educating this generation and future generations about the ideology, history, and legacy of capitalism. Representing the collaborative efforts of a multidisciplinary team of curators, artists, designers, and historians, the Museum strives to broaden public understanding of capitalism through multifaceted programs: exhibitions; research and publication; collecting and preserving material evidence, art, and artifacts related to capitalism; commemorations, reenactments, and other events; and a variety of public programming. As part of an initiative to build a more permanent public presence, the planning committee seeks bold proposals that answer the question: What should the Museum of Capitalism look like?

ZGF Architectural Student Scholarship

ZGF is a nationally recognized architecture, planning, and interior design firm with a long commitment to the critical collaboration of architectural education and professional practice. In place since 2004, this scholarship is intended to recognize and foster students who have demonstrated a talent and passion for architecture.

$10,000 will be awarded to one scholarship recipient; a currently enrolled student, entering their final year in a graduate or undergraduate level, NAAB accredited, architecture program in the fall of 2016. Call for Entries: International Competition for Horse Park in Yeongcheon, Korea

Korea Racing Authority (KRA) launches an international competition for the design of a Horse Park in Yeongcheon, Korea.

This one stage project competition in accordance with the UNESCO-UIA regulations has been approved by the UIA.

KRA intends to develop on a 1,474,883㎡ site "LetsRun Park Yeongcheon", a theme park about horses incorporating a racetrack that will hopefully become a local attraction. Its goal and purpose is to improve the overall image of horse racing and contribute to the horse industry, become tourist destination and attraction that enriches the local economy, and bearing a profit, provide an exemplary model for theme park development.

Mumbai, or erstwhile Bombay is the largest metropolis of India and an answer to the likes of Shanghai, London or New York. It is the financial capital and trade epicentre of the country, a city of lifestyles and narratives. The 'Maximum City' of Bombay is renowned all over the globe for the enormity and surrealism of BOLLYWOOD, which is the nickname given to the Hindi language Film Industry located in the city. The industry has come a long way and bloomed since its inception, to a multi-billion dollar industry, only second in capacity to its American cousin, Hollywood.

Open International Competition: White Gardens Arcade

ProjectNext communications agency and White Gardens business center announce an open international competition for architecture, structural-engineering, and design firms with the aim of finding the best concept for White Gardens Arcade.

Arcade is a public space between the two blocks of the White Gardens business center, which is located in the well-known White District business district. The glass-roofed space of the Arcade contains restaurants, cafes, and bars. During the warm months of the year visitors may sit out on open verandahs and listen to concerts. Arcade has a floor area of more than 800 square meters and is intended as a place where both people working at the business center and the general public may come to relax.

Call for submissions: Prison Puzzle

Is there such a thing as a perfect prison? Is it possible, even in theory, to satisfy needs as potentially contrasting as those of inmates, victims and society?

Rather than avoiding prison design on moral grounds, Combo Competitions wants to encourage architects and designers to confront the issue, looking for fitting solutions to a problem that is yet to be solved.

The ninth edition of the 361 degree conference intends to create a platform to allude that the ‘City’ is much more than an accumulation of buildings, construction, and architecture – they also comprise public spaces such as parks, squares, streets and alleys that are equally significant components of the urban fabric. The built and un-built environments are in a constant relationship with each other – sometimes conflictual, ideally harmonious and symbiotic – are integral to the form and function of our cities which we must constantly explore to institute and develop.

2015 IIDA Student Design Competition

This competition is open to graduate and undergraduate students around the world who are currently enrolled in an interior design or architecture program.
School projects already completed may be reinterpreted and/or edited to meet the requirements of this competition. If the school project was completed as a group, all members must agree in writing to enter the reinterpreted and/or edited project, and all members must be listed as participants on the entry form.

Competition Challenges Architects to Reimagine New York's MetLife Building

Metals in Construction magazine has launched a competition for architects, engineers, students, designers, and others from all over the world to submit their vision for recladding 200 Park Avenue, built a half-century ago as the world’s largest corporate structure, the Pan Am Building (now the MetLife Building).

The mandate is to reimagine this New York City icon with a resource-conserving, eco-friendly enclosure—one that creates a highly efficient envelope with the lightness and transparency sought by today’s office workforce while preserving and enhancing the aesthetic of its heritage. Entrants may now register on the competition's official website. The deadline for final submission is February 1, 2016.
