The Latin American Meeting of Architecture Students (ELEA) has served, across thirty-three in-person and one virtual edition, as an annual space to bring together hundreds of architecture students and young professionals from across Latin America. It provides a platform for different generations to exchange experiences and knowledge, and to build networks through exhibition, dialogue, and action within the field of architecture—and even in areas not commonly recognized as part of the discipline.
Currently, more than 50% of the global population lives in cities. In Central America, this figure rises to 80%. While cities generate more than 90% of the global Gross Domestic Product, they are also responsible for 80% of greenhouse gas emissions. The mission of the ÖMINA Foundation is to amplify and disseminate the work of global innovators and visionary entrepreneurs who are building a more socially and environmentally just future.
