This course aims to address these and other key questions to assist architects, engineers, builders, and others interested in using timber as a structural material.

In 2021, the Casa Brasileira (Brazilian House) is the theme guiding the initiatives of the Museu do Ipiranga in partnership with Wiki Movimento Brasil (WMB). The program includes Wikipedia editing marathons, which this year begin with meetings featuring researchers in the field. These experts will discuss their ongoing research at the Museum, followed by training and technical assistance on the platform. The second meeting in this series will take place on Friday, April 23, starting at 2:00 PM, under the theme "Decoration and Feminine and Masculine Identities."
III Symposium on Sustainable Environmental Rehabilitation
The 3rd Symposium on Sustainable Environmental Rehabilitation is hosted by the Laboratory of Sustainability Applied to Architecture and Urbanism at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Brasília (FAU-UnB). This scientific event will feature academic presentations organized into three main tracks: rehabilitation and sustainability; cities and indicators; and environment and energy efficiency.
| ABOUT | This course introduces aspects of ecological architecture through the design and construction of a small house, focusing on integrating architecture with the environment. Key topics include landscape analysis, appropriate material use, water flow and its biological processes, food production, energy efficiency, bioclimatic design, and the capacity of a building to generate positive social impact.
On December 4, 2021, IED Rio [Istituto Europeo di Design Rio de Janeiro] will open the doors of its new headquarters at Casa d'Itália for a "warm-up" event for courses beginning in March 2022. The free event, which requires advance registration, will feature lectures and workshops on the Terraço Belvedere, located on the building's rooftop, which offers a spectacular view of Guanabara Bay, Sugarloaf Mountain, Corcovado, Outeiro da Glória, the Marina da Glória, and the MAM Rio.
The Fórum SP 21 will take place from September 21 to 30. This seminar evaluates São Paulo's Municipal Planning System, focusing on the city's Master Plan and Urban Policy, as well as their instruments, plans, programs, and complementary actions, and the impacts and repercussions experienced in the city throughout the 21st century. The call for papers for the Forum is now open, and abstracts or videos may be submitted until July 26, 2021.
The 15th SEMAU (Architecture and Urbanism Week), organized by the Tutorial Education Program (PET) for Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the Federal University of Alagoas (FAU/Ufal), will feature the theme "Healthy Cities: urgencies, perspectives, and addressing challenges." The event will include lectures, workshops, Cine Semau, and a roundtable discussion, aiming to discuss and reflect on the existing challenges and complexities in promoting health and well-being in cities, as well as to present and share positive experiences regarding the political role of architecture, urbanism, and related fields in this debate.
