Alves Espíndola is organizing the BIM CREA-SC event, a first for our region. It will take place on November 7 and 8 in Florianópolis, SC, bringing together renowned BIM experts from across Brazil.

Architects traditionally work in urban regions where economic and population growth drive demand, often leaving remote and rural areas neglected by the design professions.

Women4Climate is a global movement that addresses climate change through the empowerment of women. It aims to inspire leaders, influence decisions, promote innovation, and raise awareness regarding critical urban issues, while encouraging research and action at the intersection of gender, cities, and climate change. While this phenomenon is gaining momentum in developed countries, female leadership in climate action has yet to take center stage in discussions on urban resilience in developing nations.

The Brazilian Association of Landscape Architects (ABAP) was awarded a grant last December through a CAU-SP public call to host an international congress titled "Landscape and Art." The event focuses on the themes of representation and landscape, as well as key figures and their work. We have brought together highly regarded researchers and professionals, and our goal is to explore the intersections of painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, and design, reaffirming the aesthetic and complex dimension of the landscape.

MOVE CINE ARTE is an international film festival of Brazilian origin dedicated exclusively to the exhibition of art films and films about art. It fills a void by providing a dedicated space for the screening and discussion of films that focus on other artistic disciplines, thereby broadening the audience for various forms of creative expression.

The 2nd International Seminar brings together leading experts from Brazil and around the world to discuss the challenges related to the adoption of BIM, the most significant technological revolution in architecture and engineering in recent decades. This edition highlights topics such as object libraries, standardization, software market normalization, Industry 4.0, and facilities management. The adoption of BIM by public sector clients will be discussed in a lecture by Israeli expert Rafael Sacks (co-author of the BIM Handbook) and through case study presentations of infrastructure projects utilizing information modeling.

The event also features FOCOS—the Offsite Construction Forum—which brings together leading industry professionals for lectures and presentations.

Escola da Cidade – Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism and EDUSP – University of São Paulo Press will host the launch of the book "Arquitetura Moderna Brasileira: Uma Crise em Desenvolvimento. Textos de Rodrigo Lefèvre (1963-1981)" [Brazilian Modern Architecture: A Crisis in Development. Texts by Rodrigo Lefèvre (1963-1981)], edited by Ana Paula Koury, on September 25 at 6:30 PM.

Architect and urban planner Elizabeth de Portzamparc, who has been based in Paris for 50 years, has distinguished herself through large-scale projects that won major international competitions in France and China. On Thursday, March 21, 2019, she will speak at the IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) in Urca, Rio de Janeiro, on "New architecture and the architecture of connections." During the talk, she will address her key projects and the set of ethical concepts she advocates for 21st-century architecture—such as sustainable development, social connections, respect for the urban context, and flexibility for the future, which opens possibilities for subsequent interventions. On this occasion, she will also launch her monographic book, which traces her professional trajectory.

The event will take place on August 14; space is limited.

The book "4x4x4. Mockup de habitação," a partnership between Universidade São Judas Tadeu, CAU/SP (Grant Agreement 09/201), and Instituto Anima, will be launched next Monday, June 24, at 7:00 PM.

A series of meetings opens a conversation on "Time" between architect and designer Ana Neute and partners Marina Acayaba and Juan Pablo Rosenberg of AR Arquitetos at the {CURA} headquarters this November.

Contemporary culture has applied the notion of curation across many segments—from works in an art exhibition, where the term is frequently used, to literary fairs, fashion festivals, cinema, or gastronomy—to designate the selection of products or objects based on specific criteria or concepts. Recent artistic production, in turn, by expressing contemporary themes and forms through distinct—and often innovative or even provocative—techniques and modes of presentation, makes the work of curation a powerful form of mediation and dialogue with diverse audiences.

Under the theme URBANISMS: TEACHING, PRACTICE, LEARNING, urbBA[19] is organized around three central themes covering: 1) Urbanism as policy; 2) Teaching and Learning Experiences; and 3) Professional Practice and Action. These are intended to continue the debate process initiated in 2011, the year of its first edition, promoting cooperation between academic institutions, civil society, and public authorities, while discussing central issues regarding the promising relationship between urbanism, collective action, and the right to the city.
