The Museu do Pontal is hosting an online debate series titled "The New Museu do Pontal – Partnerships and Inspirations," beginning August 5, 2021, at 5:00 PM. This event kicks off the programming leading up to the inauguration of the museum's new headquarters in Barra da Tijuca, the date of which will be announced during the session. The seminar will be held biweekly. The first meeting will feature Rio Mayor Eduardo Paes, Hugo Barreto of the Instituto Cultural Vale, Eduardo Saron of Itaú Cultural, Luciane Gorgulho of BNDES, and collector Edmar Costa Pinto, all supporters of the Museu do Pontal. Museum directors Lucas Van de Beuque and Angela Mascelani will also be in attendance.

The Museu do Pontal in Rio de Janeiro, an international reference for Brazilian folk art with over nine thousand works by 300 artists—the largest collection of its kind and recognized for its relevance by UNESCO—inaugurated its new headquarters in Barra da Tijuca on October 9, 2021. With this, the city gains a new and important art and culture facility. This inauguration is the result of a major collective collaboration involving over a thousand people and companies such as BNDES, Instituto Cultural Vale, and Itaú Cultural, among others, through the Federal Government's Culture Incentive Law. Furthermore, it was made possible through the special support of IBRAM (Brazilian Institute of Museums) and the City of Rio de Janeiro.

The city of Rio de Janeiro will host the 4th Experimental Construction Site Seminar in Architecture and Urbanism and the 2nd National Meeting of Experimental Construction Sites in Schools of Architecture and Urbanism. The events will take place from November 17 to 20.

This professional qualification course aims to enable architects and urban planners to work effectively in the conservation of recent heritage, strengthening professional practice in the preservation of architectural, urban, and landscape heritage. In this edition, the course focuses on reinforced concrete construction systems and their application in modern buildings.

The Ministry of Culture, through the Rouanet Law, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Museum of Afro-Brazilian History and Culture (MUHCAB), and the Instituto Pedra are pleased to present the seminar Between Two Worlds: Africa and Africans in the Historical Archives of the Itamaraty, which will take place on May 15, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, at the MUHCAB auditorium in Rio de Janeiro.

This workshop is not only a great opportunity for professionals and students from various fields interested in Technical Assistance for Social Interest Housing (ATHIS), but it is also the first in a series of workshops across several states aimed at expanding the ATHIS Network, which began in São Paulo with the "Vivência em ATHIS para Melhorias Habitacionais" course. This network seeks to promote this practice, facilitate information exchange, and provide support to those involved through the "Arquiteto de Família" (Family Architect) methodology.

The IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) will host Italian designer Gianni Cinti for the lecture "The Future of Fashion" on October 19 at 7:00 PM. The discussion is rooted in the concept that designers are crucial players in the sustainability game. Indeed, it is necessary to reclaim a design methodology linked to "making" and "inventing"—elements that have always been inherent to the creator and are indispensable to the "Made in Italy" working method.

Mercedes Viegas Arte Contemporânea will open the exhibition "Adalberto Mecarelli – Luz +" on December 12, 2019, at 7:00 PM for guests, and the following day for the general public. The exhibition features works by the artist, who was born in Terni, Italy, in 1946, and has been based in Paris for 50 years. This is the first exhibition in Brazil by the sculptor, whose abstract constructive approach is noted for research into light and shadow and solar light recordings. Their work is featured in various public spaces across European countries, including France, Italy, and Germany. "The exhibition primarily presents light sculptures that engage with the gallery space—geometric forms sculpted by shadow," notes curator Elisa Byington, who selected works by the artist spanning various techniques and materials.

Twenty thousand architects from around the world will come to Rio de Janeiro in 2020 for three mega-events, 12 seminars, more than 50 art exhibitions and cultural initiatives, and competitions for students and young professionals. All of this will revolve around the 27th World Congress of Architects (UIA2020RIO), which will even incorporate some of the world's most famous celebrations, such as New Year's Eve on Copacabana Beach and the Rio Carnival.

Starting September 14, 2019, the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro (MAM) presents the exhibition "Zanine 100 Years – Form and Resistance," featuring 18 works by the renowned architect, designer, artist, landscape architect, and professor José Zanine Caldas (1919–2001), stemming from his deep research into native woods. Curated by MAM design curator Tulio Mariante, the selected works represent Zanine’s iconic and prolific production between the late 1960s and 1980s, known as "protest furniture." Crafted from solid wood, these pieces were a pioneering indictment of deforestation in Brazilian forests. Mariante notes that Zanine "collected wood from logging remnants, often irregular, as a form of protest and resistance."

Aiming to create a network of educators connected to global education trends, the "HUB: Connections for the Future of Education" conference will bring together education professionals on June 7th and 8th at Exc.Rio in the Jockey Club of Rio de Janeiro—a vibrant space for major gatherings with an inspiring view. Now in its second edition, the event has established itself on the annual calendar of major industry meetings and reinforces its identity as part of a movement to transform education through inspiring experiences.
