Atkins has been selected to design a transit-oriented development (TOD) master-plan along the new Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail (HSR) corridor, the first HSR project in Indonesia. Set for completion by 2019, the corridor will extend 142.3km, stimulating economic growth along the corridor while re-allocating traffic to de-congest the region.
The TOD masterplan will integrate smart planning, land value capture and development/station integration, with Atkins specifically covering "masterplanning, transit oriented development, architecture and urban design, landscape design and station integration for Halim and Manggarai areas."

Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) recently broke ground on what will be Indonesia’s first LEED Platinum building. Currently under construction in the heart of Jakarta, the Sequis Centre Tower is designed as a reinterpretation of the city’s typical glass tower. It will feature ample amounts of office space, along with restaurants, health facilities, retail space, and more.

Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) has unveiled a 99-story tower planned for the Rasuna Epicentrum neighborhood in Jakarta. Designed as a “highly sustainable corporate headquarters” for the state-owned energy company, Pertamina, the “energy tower” aims to become a new landmark on the Indonesian capital’s skyline. Once complete in 2020, the large-scale project will feature a 2,000-seat performing arts auditorium and exhibition pavilion, public mosque, and central energy plant in addition to the office tower.

Woodhead recently won the commission against three other international design, engineering and contractor teams to be the lead designer of architecture and interiors for the new 380,000m2, 25 million passenger Terminal 3 at Soekarno Hatta International Airport in Jakarta. The terminal is for Garuda’s expanding international and domestic fleet of aircraft and is a model of efficiency and comfort overlaid with the curation of Indonesia’s unique cultural and environmental experiences for passengers. Construction is due to be completed and the new terminal building fully operational by the close of 2015. More images and architects' description after the break.
