In Brazil, little is known about the reality of Paraguay, a country with a rich culture, beautiful landscapes, and a population of approximately 6.5 million people who speak its two official languages: Spanish and Guarani.

On November 19, Editora Escola da Cidade launches Um guia de arquitetura de São Paulo: doze percursos e cento e vinte e quatro projetos [A Guide to the Architecture of São Paulo: Twelve Routes and One Hundred and Twenty-Four Projects], organized by architect and professor Fabio Valentim. The book presents a selection of significant works from the recent history of modern architecture in São Paulo and its subsequent developments.

Unlike when they were seen merely as spaces for sleeping and showering, today hotels must enhance the travel experience to attract guests and offer a competitive edge against direct rivals or even new lodging models like Airbnb. Consequently, beyond room quality, leisure areas, restaurants, landscape, and architecture are key factors in the success of a development.
In countries like Brazil, which feature diverse landscapes and a varied population, one encounters a wide range of solutions when designing hotels. For this reason, we have gathered ten national examples where architecture stands out, lending a unique identity to each of these buildings.

On November 26, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the fourth and final meeting of the Portas Abertas (Open Doors) program, hosted by Escola da Cidade, will take place. The program is intended for prospective students interested in enrolling in an Architecture and Urbanism course.

Architecture Dialogues by the Collegiate of State Entities of Architects and Urban Planners of CAU-SP

Designing the spatial quality of public space and allocating its program for the population is one of the greatest challenges for architects and urban planners. Urban developments, parks, and plazas are some of the interventions these professionals encounter when creating places for democratic use—spaces that often become symbols of the city. To illustrate these projects, we have gathered ten Brazilian examples that explore different contexts and scales.
