Since 2010, the School of Architecture at Universidad Mayor in Santiago has hosted an annual international workshop, inviting architecture schools from around the world to collaborate for nine days. In addition to the core work, related lectures are held, and the final results are presented to an external jury.

He will present the lecture "The City Speaks – Modes of Urban Appropriation in the Contemporary City" at the São Paulo Architects Union (SASP). The evening will also include a book signing and the sale of the author's works.

Researcher Rodrigo Contreras of the Millennium Institute of Astrophysics (MAS) will deliver this lecture as part of the "Architecture of Selection" series. Organized by the School of Architecture at Universidad Finis Terrae, the series will explore the theme of distance throughout the second semester of 2018.

This one-of-a-kind congress in Latin America aims to showcase the true potential of SketchUp and V-Ray for SketchUp, explore their capabilities in greater depth, and provide insight into current workflows and future developments. The event features conferences and workshops led by internationally and nationally recognized experts in the field of architecture.

Organized by the Sociedad Central de Arquitectos, this international competition seeks the development of a preliminary design for the Faro de la Cultura (Lighthouse of Culture), a cultural center to be located in the Rodrigo Bueno neighborhood of Costanera Sur, between the ecological reserve and the former Boca Sports City.

The project’s primary objective is to stimulate integration and equitable access to facilities for all local residents, fostering community engagement.

The Madrid City Council, in collaboration with the Official College of Architects of Madrid (COAM), has launched a competition for the adaptation and rehabilitation of the historic Beti Jai fronton (always party in Basque) in the Spanish capital.

This former sports facility for Basque pelota, which seats 4,000 spectators, was designed by Joaquín de Rucoba and inaugurated in 1894. It served various purposes after 1918, when it ceased to function exclusively as a sports venue, until it was completely abandoned in 1989. In 2015, the Madrid City Council acquired the site, following concerns over its uncertain future raised by local organizations such as Madrid, Ciudadanía y Patrimonio.

The journal Designia invites the national and international academic community to submit research-based articles in the fields of Architecture, Urbanism, Design (graphic, industrial, and fashion), Heritage, Museology, and Visual Arts for publication in Volume 6, Issue 1.

The 13 finalist projects—selected from 244 entries across 17 Brazilian states and the Federal District—are featured in an exhibition at the Instituto Tomie Ohtake, where the winners will be announced at the opening on August 23.

Architecture, design, engineering, and innovation in wood take center stage at Wood Week 2018, where more than 100 projects from across Chile and Latin America will be presented to the jury. This course explores the possibilities of light as an expressive and artistic medium and as a way to intervene in specific spaces. We will begin with the theory of light and optics, move on to the origins of projections and modern spectacle, illusionism, and artistic intervention, and conclude with projection and mapping techniques, examining the latest global developments in this field.

Following the success of the 2017 workshop, where students conceived the Amazon Climate Change Learning Center—one of 15 finalists selected from 384 proposals in the WDCD Climate Change Challenge—this year’s AA Visiting School Amazon workshop is all about hands-on experience.

The goal is to design and build a small prototype of an experimental floating structure in the middle of Lake Mamori in the Amazon. This model will be built in collaboration with the local community, in partnership with Ecofloat, and under the guidance of AA Visiting School Amazon faculty Nacho Martí and Marko Brajovic.
