Researcher Rodrigo Contreras of the Millennium Institute of Astrophysics (MAS) will deliver this lecture as part of the "Architecture of Selection" series. Organized by the School of Architecture at Universidad Finis Terrae, the series will explore the theme of distance throughout the second semester of 2018.
For this session, Rodrigo Contreras—an engineer and PhD in Astronomy—will speak on "Our Place in the Cosmos," addressing the location of humans in the Universe, how we determine our position, and how we have come to understand our small place in the vast cosmic ocean.
The lecture is free and open to the public. It will be held on Thursday, August 23, at 7:00 p.m. at the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Universidad Finis Terrae (Pedro de Valdivia 1224, Providencia).
