This course explores the possibilities of light as an expressive and artistic medium and as a way to intervene in specific spaces. We will begin with the theory of light and optics, move on to the origins of projections and modern spectacle, illusionism, and artistic intervention, and conclude with projection and mapping techniques, examining the latest global developments in this field.
In parallel, we will conduct guided practical experimentation exercises, in which students will create small-scale light devices and a personal mapping project on a three-dimensional volume.
