From March 5 to 9, 2019, the second BAMBOO EXPERIENCE CAMP workshop will take place in Azpitia, an hour from Lima. This construction workshop is organized by Bamboo Green Cities as a social collaboration project that combines technical training in bamboo construction with community-focused goals, serving as a tool for change. On this occasion, Azpitia, in the Mala Valley, invites us to highlight its identity as a hub for bamboo, apples, and pisco.

Future Pharmacy is an international competition launched by ThKohl on the Desall.com platform. The competition seeks innovative ideas and concepts for the pharmacy of the future, envisioned as a commercial space dedicated to the individual, their well-being, and social interaction.

The international Architecture and Design festival of Logroño, Concéntrico, is establishing a new collaboration for this edition with the Métropole de Rouen Normandie (France) and its monumental art biennial, La Forêt Monumentale.

As it does every year, ETSA·TOPIA is organizing a competition for workshops, as well as a separate competition to select speakers for a Pecha Kucha session. The competition aims to celebrate six weeks dedicated to the creation and visitation of timber installations, using design to connect people with the cultural and natural heritage of the Ciloria Valley (Valgañón, La Rioja).

This issue of QU3 aims to explore research, projects, and actions in Latin America that observe and engage with the city through contemporary networks and the challenges that define them. The organizers observe these phenomena and engage in practices within a complex and open urbanism, which is the result of a constant interaction between agents and agencies, as well as processes of innovation in the distribution of urban decision-making. In these times of significant political upheaval and institutional crises across the continent, the goal is to identify, value, and safeguard urban practices, collectives, and projects that can chart new paths.

Archstorming is collaborating on this new competition with His Hands On Africa (“HHOA”), a non-profit organization founded in 2016 that aims to address the lack of dental services in developing countries. The chosen location is Rwanda, a small country in the heart of Africa.

The Multi Comfort Student Contest is a two-stage international competition based on the principles of the Saint-Gobain Multi Comfort Program.

As part of ‘Del territorio al Detalle’, a space for academic dialogue and reflection that brings together architecture professors, students, and renowned architects, the spin-off "Del territorio al detalle .re" explores the thesis that a territory's richness stems from its capacity for renewal. Through informal conversations with relevant figures, the series examines how activating disused spaces can transform them into both challenges and resources.

Modern architecture in Mexico can be understood through its diverse facets. This course aims to study and discuss, through theoretical and expository lectures, the work of four major architects of this period in Mexico: Juan O'Gorman (1905–1982), Luis Barragán (1902–1988), Mario Pani (1911–1993), and Félix Candela (1910–1997). The sessions will address the historical, political, and cultural contexts of Mexico during this era, while also drawing parallels with the work of Le Corbusier and other artists such as José Clemente Orozco, Mathias Goeritz, and Jesús “Chucho” Reyes. In this way, the course seeks to understand not only the discourse and practice of these architects but also the very construction of Modern Architecture in Mexico.

The 2nd Colloquium: Women, City, and Architecture in the Pandemic will take place from March 26 to 27, 2021. Due to the pandemic, it will be a virtual event; however, it maintains the tradition of involving various groups in its organization, a practice initiated by Lab20 PPGAU-UFBA in 2019. This edition is organized by Amar.é.lina, the Observatory of Feminist Studies in Architecture and Urbanism at PPG FAU UnB, making Brasília the host city for this edition.

With an architecture that focuses on social transformation and community building, Giancarlo Mazzanti has established himself as one of the leading Colombian architects today. He will discuss his work and architectural vision in the lecture "Six Strategies for a More Participatory Architecture" this coming Friday, March 26, at 12:00 PM (Chile time). This event will mark the start of the academic year at the Universidad Finis Terrae School of Architecture. The lecture is free and open to the public and will be held via Zoom.

Promoted by the Academic Center of the Architecture and Urbanism program at UFJF (CACAU UFJF), the doCACAU audiovisual program aims to democratize architectural education for the community, integrating cultural and social knowledge as a means of extending learning beyond the university walls. The program includes internal initiatives focused on audiovisual production and architectural dialogues, which are also published on the Academic Center's media channels.
