From Trash to Treasure: Recycling

The “FROM TRASH TO TREASURE: Recycling” project returns for its second edition at Galeria Metara.
This event, which focuses on sustainability and environmental awareness, will feature an exhibition of works by Susi Sielski Cantarino and Osvaldo Gaia, alongside paintings produced during workshops.

Conceived by Susi Sielski Cantarino in 2023, “FROM TRASH TO TREASURE” returns this year with a new edition, rebranded as “FROM TRASH TO TREASURE: Recycling,” featuring a cocktail reception on March 27 starting at 6:00 PM. In addition to the exhibition by artists Osvaldo Gaia and Susi Sielski Cantarino, the event will showcase paintings created by students from the Darcy Vargas Foundation during recycling workshops. These works, set in repurposed frames, will be available for purchase on opening night. The opening will also feature a video and photo projection documenting the students' workshop experience, as well as a laser display of thematic phrases projected onto the walls of the neighboring Moinho Fluminense (located next to Metara).
