Maravilha Project | Quintas Maravilha

Dialogue with the forest: A contemplative experience from the "Quintas Maravilha" educational program, part of the Maravilha Project

SPECIAL PROGRAMMING WITH GUESTS
Weekly workshop 03/20 "We Are Nature" | Quintas Maravilha | 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM
This session invites a conversation about nature and the environment amidst the Atlantic Forest and the landscape of the Bosque das Artes. We are nature, and this awareness is perhaps the most important one currently for the world and for education. If we lose our connection to nature, we lose our connection to ourselves. In this conversation with ecologist Fabio Scarano and Anna Dantes, writer and director of the collective "Selvagem, ciclo de estudos sobre a vida," we will walk through the Bosque das Artes in a walking dialogue, connecting with the surrounding nature and recognizing ourselves within it.
The "Quintas Maravilha" educational program is an initiative promoted by the Maravilha Project. In its first edition, it presents works by artist Carlos Vergara in the Bosque das Artes, a new space dedicated to art, education, technology, and nature on Sugarloaf Mountain. Every Thursday, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, on a first-come, first-served basis, visitors of all ages have the opportunity to engage in experiences that create connections with the world around them. The program features workshops led by facilitators who aim to articulate content related to Vergara's works and themes such as the environment, sustainability, the city's history, the geological monument of Sugarloaf Mountain, Guanabara Bay, and indigenous peoples. Artistic interventions, workshops, conversations about the works, sensory explorations in nature, investigative discovery paths, and outdoor observational drawing are some examples of the programming.
