China Wujiang – Qipao Town International Architecture Design Competition Poster
Wujiang, as part of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province, is a world-renowned “Silk Capital” of China, possessing immeasurable cultural power. The Central Government’s promulgation of “One Belt One Road” strategy has offered new opportunities for Wujiang. Added to that the development and construction of the city’s Taihu New City and the conditions are ripe for it to leverage on its cultural heritage such as to enhance its core competitiveness, in keeping with international trends. As such it is necessary to fully expound on Wujiang’s rich silk culture in order to achieve perfect integration of the latter with the New City which symbolizes modern civilization. As an important cultural highlight as well as project landmark in Wujiang’s Taihu New City, Qipao Town looks set to herald a new chapter in the venerable city’s modern development.
Boston-area architects, engineers, contractors, designers, and students attending schools of architecture, engineering, and design participate in this annual charity event in which teams compete to display colossal sculptures made out of canned goods. Founded in 1992, Canstruction’s mission is to highlight the issue of hunger across communities, collect food for distribution to thousands and to showcase the creativity of the design industry.
The half-day course provides an understanding of the regulations, context and background, as well as Principal Designer practicalities through case studies.

Competition for Interior and Entrance Design of Tabriz Metro Station No. 11
Tabriz Urban Railway Organization, which is in charge of design, implementation and operation of Tabriz metro network, announces an open call entitled “Competition of Interior and Entrance Design of Tabriz Metro Stations” to receive the creative proposals aiming at improving the spatial quality of the stations. The competition for Interior and Entrance Design of Station No. 11 (Sa’at square) is organized following the said policy and as the second competition of the competitions series. 'Ruins·Rebirth' Dongjingyu Village Regeneration International Landscape Design Competition
The Dongjingyu Village is at the Ji County, the only mountainous area in the Tianjin municipality. It is home to a cluster of vernacular stone dwellings of extraordinary design and layout, interspersed among grotesque rocks, primeval trees and rare plants. As a point of departure for Dongjingyu Village’s regeneration masterplan, this competition seeks to respond to the rural revival movement across China and explore the local culture and charm of the Village.
INCM Madrid 2016 The Intermediate National Contacts Meeting hereinafter referred to as INCM, is the annual gathering of the 150 representatives of each EASA member country. During the 10-day event, the National Contacts (NCs), discuss and debate on the outlook of the Assembly, the role of the architect and the future of the profession. Where formerly the care institution cared for about a hundred clients under intensive care, the number has now dropped to under fifty. A variety of influencing factors in the healthcare field, the relocation of residents, and the increasing age of clients, are making the building more difficult to fill.

The Society of Architectural Historians’ prestigious H. Allen Brooks Travelling Fellowship will be offered for 2016 and will allow a recent graduate or emerging scholar to study by travel for one year. The fellowship is not for the purpose of doing research for an advanced academic degree. Instead, Professor Brooks intended the recipient to study by travel and contemplation while observing, reading, writing, or sketching.
