PROCESS 2k16 - NATIONAL CONFERENCE

A "National Conference" is organized by School Of Architecture, AMACE. With seminars of architects from all around India. We School of Architecture, AMACE welcome all architecture students to "PROCESS 2k16".

Bridges and Highways infrastructure development have rapidly escalated in recent years in Asia Pacific, constituting 60% of the global market. Demand is largely driven by the availability of government road building funds, urbanization growth, and the need to replace or repair aging infrastructure. The Engineering and Maintenance components play a vital role in bridges & highways development as they are key to overall safety, project management and delivery of bridge and highway project and on a larger scale, a reflection of the country’s infrastructure plans and reputation.

Year on year, we are seeing Asia drastically outperforming all other regions in Skyscraper construction. For example, in 2015, 81 of the 106 completions were constructed in Asia.

A direct consequence of Asia’s Economy Growth, Rapid Urbanization and a Tremendous Appetite to build the Smartest, Most Asthetic and Tallest Buildings in the world, going forward it looks like it is no different as another record breaking year of skyscrapers completion is expected to take place in Asia.

With the successful completion of the first three International PUARL Conferences at the University of Oregon in Portland in 2009, 2011, and 2013 (in cooperation with ARUS), and the latest conference carried out in cooperation with PURPLSOC, the "World Conference on Pattern Languages" at the Danube University of Krems in Austria in the summer of 2015, the PUARL Conference Series has reached a new level of interdisciplinary involvement and a new international format and organization. The annual conferences will continue to alternate between Europe and the US covering the large and growing body of work in the emerging discipline of Regenerative Processes in our Urban Environments. We at the Portland Urban Architecture Research Laboratory are therefore pleased to announce the next conference entitled "The Regenerative City." It will focus on various aspects of Regeneration in the City, the nature and quality of evidence-based approaches to urban challenges, including the pattern language approach, and planning and design issues that we are facing in urban environments and buildings throughout the world today. This conference will take place in San Francisco in the Fall of 2016, October 28-30 in cooperation with PURPLSOC, the Collaborative for Inclusive Urbanism (CIU), and University of San Francisco (USF).

Once a niche topic, architectural geometry enjoys increasing interest from both academics as well as practitioners from the fields of architecture, engineering, computer science and mathematics. The Advances in Architectural Geometry (AAG) symposia series addresses this increasing interest through presentations and discussions of innovation in geometric and computational applications in architecture.

The Architectural and Environmental Design (AED) is created to be a platform for all early career researchers, practitioners and students from all around the world, helping them to share ideas, and to expand networks for scholars.

AED is an international conference that focuses on Sustainability and how it is approached by Architectural and Environmental Designs. AED engages with real life problems that affect the buildings on all scales, cities, and environment where it also discusses the built environment, and the factors that assist in shaping the built environment and how it affects our lives and our activities. IEREK for International Experts for Research Enrichment and Knowledge Exchange welcomes the abstract submissions to our Early Career conference.

The Charles Correa Foundation is organizing its second annual Z-Axis Conference entitled Buildings As Ideas, which will focus on buildings and the nature of the questions they raise. The inaugural conference, Great City... Terrible Place, which was held in March 2015, intended to describe the city.

This conference is a tribute to the memory of Charles Correa and is the third in a series of events the Foundation has held named Buildings As Ideas – the first was in January, being one of four evenings Celebrating Charles Correa; the second an exhibition on Correa’s unbuilt work which opened in March; and this third event, the conference, will explore in greater depth what Correa believed – that buildings are ideas that manifest and take form.

The 8th series of the ‘International Conference on World Class Sustainable Cities’ (WCSC) event is themed ‘City Spaces, Public Places’ with the objectives of addressing and focusing on the benefits of greater accessibility and better public spaces that will enhance social, economic and environmental elements of the city and its livability. On June 16-17, Prague will be hosting one of the leading architecture and urbanist events in Europe. Most of the 49 world renowned experts who will speak at reSITE 2016: Cities in Migration have experienced migration themselves. Coming from 20 countries, they will bring innovative solutions and successful strategies for European and Western cities to come to terms painlessly with the influx of new residents. Carl Weisbrod, Chairman of the City Planning Commission of NYC, Professor Saskia Sassen, sociologist at Columbia University, and Michael Kimmelman, the Architecture Critic for The New York Times will come from New York City. A huge number of speakers will come from Germany. Besides the famous landscape architect, Martin Rein-Cano from Topotek 1, Berlin, we will meet one of the city planner of Munich and the co-founders of the initiative “Refugees Welcome.”

Since its first version in 2011, the Moscow Urban Forum has become an important international platform devoted to the development of megacities, and improvement of the quality of life of urban residents in the world, Moscow and Russia. Over the years, it has developed into a major international project that brings together the people who come up with ideas to improve the quality of urban space, and the people who implement these ideas: mayors, politicians, urbanists, and architects from all over the world.

The topic of the 2016 Forum is "Fast-Growing Megacities: Technologies for Dynamic Development." Why is it so important to discuss growth and development of megacities at this time? What are the rules that determine their existence?

Christian Kerez will close the 2nd Critical Distance cycle organized by the Lisbon Architecture Triennale. The Swiss architect is this year invited to represent his country at the 15th Venice Architectural Biennale. In his architecture, Kerez explores the structural elements as the most visible element of his buildings, strongly illustrated in projects such as a school in Leutschenbach, Switzerland, or a skyscraper in China.
