The 1st "NEIGHBORHOOD AND CHILDHOOD" Forum is an initiative by the Coordinadora de la Ciudad (en Construcción), held within the framework of the Urban95 Program and the Fitekantropus Project. It aims to bring together various organizations, institutions, collectives, and individuals working with and for children to share visions, approaches, and methodologies; coordinate initiatives, proposals, and actions; and raise awareness among citizens and local governments regarding this issue.

We have seen these colorful posters everywhere, and we didn't want to miss out on this beautiful event, which highlights the intersection of children and the neighborhood, viewing public space as an educational space. If you missed what has already happened, we will tell you about it in a future post, as we have been attending since day one. However, please don't miss what's coming up:

Architecture and Urbanism is Culture

The Council of Architecture and Urbanism of Rio de Janeiro (CAU/RJ) is hosting a public debate to discuss cultural funding lines and the appreciation of architecture and urbanism through the lens of culture. The event will also provide an opportunity to address questions regarding the 6th edition of the organization's Cultural Sponsorship Program, which is accepting applications until 5:00 PM on September 21 for financial support for initiatives such as events or publications related to the architecture and urbanism profession.

    OBJECTIVE

      SurSur Seminar in Concepción

      This seminar is positioned in the South, looking toward the South. It approaches the subject not only through the lens of architects but also through those of a biologist, a sculptor, and a documentarian. Together, they propose methodologies, approaches, processes, and discussions surrounding what is "available," while maintaining a global perspective. This allows us to discuss what it means to study architecture at a school in the southern part of the world, exploring concepts such as territory and landscape, material, precariousness, culture, craftsmanship, and remote locations, among others.

      Sea ice in the Arctic region is crucial for maintaining the global climate due to its reflectivity. The melting of this ice can further accelerate global warming due to positive feedback loops, where warming generates more heat as solar absorption increases. The loss of this ice sheet may represent a tipping point in global warming, triggering the 'runaway' effect of climate change.
