Call for Ideas: Global Warming Center

Sea ice in the Arctic region is crucial for maintaining the global climate due to its reflectivity. The melting of this ice can further accelerate global warming due to positive feedback loops, where warming generates more heat as solar absorption increases. The loss of this ice sheet may represent a tipping point in global warming, triggering the 'runaway' effect of climate change.

Characteristics: A place to conduct in-situ research on the causes and effects of climate change, and ultimately, to assess the speed of its impact, prompting a rethink of our societal way of life. Therefore, the competition brief calls for the creation of an advanced research outpost. This research center for two people should allow for the collection of samples and the study of the air, underwater currents, air quality, and more.
