The Embassy of Mexico in Colombia invites you to the forum "Architecture and City: The Experience of Mexico and Colombia," which will take place at the Rogelio Salmona Auditorium of the Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Center on Thursday, June 21.

Architecthon is a competition-experience initiative where architecture students from various international universities gather for 24 hours to address an architectural challenge.

Aligned with the philosophy of the School of Architecture at the Universidad Europea de Valencia—where the university functions as a laboratory for thought and knowledge production by and for the city—the MUAh (Master’s Degree in Enabling Architecture) is launching this competition to (re)think shared spaces in the city of Valencia, in collaboration with the Valencia City Council (Department of Urban Planning).

Bloco is an annual publication from the Architecture and Urbanism program at Feevale University. It is distributed free of charge and is also available in a digital edition.
For 2018, Bloco (14) aims to explore the diverse ways in which architects and urban planners practice.
With this theme in mind, we invite everyone to participate in the selection process for publication in Bloco. Initially, we are accepting only abstracts for the selection of articles to be published this year.

Urb-i (www.urb-i.com) is launching the fifth edition of its collaborative design challenge, this time in partnership with the Maria da Gente movement. The chosen site is Rua Maria Antônia, in downtown São Paulo, directly in front of Mackenzie.

The Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) is pleased to announce the Global Summer School 2018, the 11th edition of the international program on the future of our cities, which will take place in Barcelona and other nodes simultaneously from July 2 to 14, 2018.

Titled "Less Architecture, More City," the 5th edition of the International Congress of Architecture and Society will focus on the city to reflect on new forms of urbanism, exploring dimensions such as ecology, sustainable mobility, and the humanization of public spaces.

As in the four previous editions, the Baluarte-Palacio de Congresos y Auditorio de Navarra will once again host this international event on June 13 and 14. While previous editions were more focused on architecture and architects—having featured renowned international figures such as Álvaro Siza, Alejandro Aravena, David Chipperfield, and Rem Koolhaas, and gathering up to 10 Pritzker Prize winners—this year marks a shift. In fact, from its first edition, titled "More for Less," to the most recent one in 2016, "Climate Change," the event has hosted major international figures in the field.

On August 4, Chile celebrates National Architects Day, commemorating the enactment of Law 7.211, which established the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile on that same day in 1942. For this 76th anniversary, the professional association will present its traditional CA Awards to those who have excelled in various fields of architecture.

The Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile Awards (CA Awards) are among the most prestigious honors for architects in Chile, recognizing eleven individuals for their excellence, work, and contributions to the field. The institution also honors a non-architect who has made a significant contribution to the profession.

The Municipal Government of Sobral, Ceará, Brazil, through the Secretariat of Urbanism and Environment (SEUMA), is promoting the National Public Architectural Design Competition titled "Monumento da Luz" (Monument of Light), with the consultancy of the Ceará Department of the Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB-CE).

The second edition of the project competition for the Des-Adarve Ephemeral Art Festival in September 2018 is open to all artists and design or architecture professionals under 31 years of age. The event will feature installation projects in five of our city's most iconic spaces, chosen for their historical, cultural, and artistic significance.

With the III International Forum of Urban Interventions just a few months away, the event organizers have launched an open call inviting the public to intervene in the official poster by creating their own version. "We want this forum to reach as many citizens as possible and involve them in reclaiming their public spaces. Intervening in the city is a duty, in order to make it a better place. We are offering the poster as one more opportunity for citizens to participate in this event," stated Mariana Alegre, Coordinator of Lima Cómo Vamos, a citizen observatory that organizes this urban forum through its initiative, Ocupa tu calle.

Galeria Joan Prats presents Footprints, the first exhibition by architect Josep Lluís Mateo. Through a selection of completed works and projects, the exhibition explores Mateo’s career in a non-chronological manner, seeking ways to narrate architecture through the themes inherent to his practice. Mateo’s architecture is characterized by a modernist legacy, focusing on the pursuit of light, an intense dialogue with context, and a connection between idea and material. His projects are thoughtful and strategic; they speak to space and carefully balance the relationship between the mineral and the vegetal.

The launch of 'Dibujo y Proyecto' by educator, researcher, and architect Germán Hidalgo will take place on June 28 at 6:30 PM in the FADEU Auditorium.

On June 11, Arq. Futuro—a platform for discussion on cities—and Insper invite you to a lecture by Pablo Lazo, director of integrated planning at ARUP, at the Insper campus in São Paulo. The event, which is open to the public, will explore the concept of resilience in urban planning, drawing on the experience of the 100 Resilient Cities initiative, supported primarily by the Rockefeller Foundation, with ARUP as one of its partner firms.
