Last weekend, films exploring diverse urban experiences across various Latin American countries kicked off the fifth edition of the Architecture and Film Festival of Chile, ArqFilmFest. This free, online event will run through November 29 for audiences across the country and the continent, accessible via arqfilmfest.cl.

On November 24, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the second edition of DOMO will take place online, an event tailored for architects and facade consultants. Conceived by Cebrace, the largest glass and mirror manufacturer in South America, and held in partnership with Schüco and Eastman, the event will feature presentations focused on case studies, trends, and discussions regarding facades in nationally and internationally renowned projects, presented by professionals from firms such as Zaha Hadid Architects, Perkins&Will, and Andrade Morettin Arquitetos Associados.

Ser Urbano is an annual event hosted by the Architecture and Urbanism program at PUC-Rio. Organized by students, it reflects their concerns within the field of architecture and urbanism, seeking to stimulate critical and creative thinking within the academic environment. The event, which features roundtables, debates, and workshops, reaches its 11th edition this year.

The call for entries for the 2020 CAU/RJ Grandjean de Montigny Grand Prize is now available! This year's winner will be awarded a study trip to a Latin American country, in addition to R$ 7,000 for expenses. The authors of the projects placed 2nd and 3rd will receive R$ 5,000 and R$ 3,000, respectively, for study trips. The results will be announced at the Architect and Urban Planner Day celebration on December 15. The Rio de Janeiro Department of the Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB-RJ) has opened registration for the 58th Annual Awards—Road to the Centenary and the 37th Architect of Tomorrow Award. The former aims to recognize the intellectual and professional production of the Department's members, while the Architect of Tomorrow is dedicated to honoring academic work produced in architecture and urbanism programs across the state of Rio de Janeiro. The winning final graduation projects in the eight categories of the Architect of Tomorrow award will also compete for the Grandjean de Montigny Award, sponsored by CAU/RJ.

Rio de Janeiro is inviting everyone to be part of the 2020 official calendar, as the city serves as the first UNESCO-UIA World Capital of Architecture and host of the 27th World Congress of Architects. The City Hall has published a public call (number 02/2019) in the Official Municipal Gazette, opening the floor for institutions and cultural producers from Brazil and abroad to submit proposals for events related to architecture, cultural heritage, landscaping, urban management, or discussions on the cities of the future.
