Starting preparation from June 2017, Ban Xue Gang High-Tech Zone Core Area Urban Quality Improvement International Design Competition has generated 8 superior plans of 4 competition programs initially on May 2018.

This competition is an important measure to improve the quality of Ban Xue Gang High-Tech city in the future, not only requiring the efforts of the government and professionals, but also the support and participation of the society and the public. The organizer has widely collected opinions and suggestions of the public and relevant government departments on the 8 shortlisted plans by the online questionnaire and convening consultation meetings. And the calibration meeting was held on October 31, 2018, and officially confirmed the first and second winners of each competition program. The results of the competition and related matters are announced as follows:

The University of Illinois at Chicago School of Architecture is now accepting applications for the 2019–20 Douglas A. Garofalo Fellowship. Many developing countries are seeking universal education, gender equality, and women's empowerment. Educating children helps reduce poverty and will give the next generation the tools to achieve upward mobility and conquer disease. Education also offers children a safe environment, with support, supervision, and socialization. Here they learn life skills that can help them prevent diseases, including HIV/AIDS and malaria prevention. Children may receive life-saving vaccines, fresh water, and nutrient supplementation at school.

Vazio S/A, Coletivo Aurora and Eduardo de Jesus have launched the open competition Outros Territórios – International Call for Urban Intervention.

Outros Territórios (Other Territories) is a suite of ephemeral interventions proposed for a hilly neighborhood in Belo Horizonte, Brazil called Buritis. The plan envisages an instantaneous transformation of the landscape through the simultaneous occupation of the many stilt systems propping up the hillside buildings.

With the 4th Call for Ideas the Future Architecture Platform invites multi-disciplinary emerging creatives who work on transformative projects and ideas for the future of architecture to apply for participation in the European Architecture Program in 2019.

The Future Architecture Platform acts as a key platform for exchange and networking for European architecture and integrates some of Europe’s most important architectural events. To face these transformations, the upcoming generations need to be moulded in a way that they can cope efficiently with the variations. Over the last decades, education has evolved into a vital necessity for people belonging to all facets of the ever-changing world. An important agent of social change, education not only helps in molding young minds with values but also guides their intellectual development and boosts the society’s potential for its own progressive transformation. Education can help in the eradication of many social evils such as poverty, poor health, scarcity of food and water, pollution and other stigmas.

Qianhai is in western Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, on the eastern bank of the Pearl River Estuary, near Hong Kong; it is the future demonstration area of in-depth cooperation of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and new urban center. It’s in order to plan and construct a bunch of high-level and high-quality landmark buildings, forming new landmarks in Qianhai in terms of model, design, and function, etc., and increase the influence and appeal of the region. There are plans to build Qianhai International Financial Exchange Center at Unit 1, Guiwan Area, Qianhai, and currently the Tender for the Architectural Scheme Design of Qianhai International Financial Exchange Center (hereinafter referred to as the "project") is in progress.

This project is hosted by the Authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone and organized by the Shenzhen Qianhai Development Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. We sincerely invite the domestic and overseas design organizations and winners of famous architectural design awards to participate in the project. We will select the most creative and international vision of the design scheme and build a waterfront public building as the new landmark of Qianhai City with high standards and starting points.

The Design that Educates Awards (DtEA) investigate the educational potential of architecture and design. The ability to communicate the implemented solutions and features is the main theme of the awards. Such an informational layer of design and architecture provides an important (yet not fully explored) opportunity for a dialog between the user and the designer. The result—a new type of learning environment—provides a space for the exploration of both the design itself and its relation to the vaster context. Each year, the esteemed panel of judges will select the most outstanding examples. The objective of the awards is to recognize, showcase, and promote globally the best ideas and implementations of architecture and design that educate.

Every year, the Festival is visited by a large public. In 2018, it received 18 000 visitors and has been widely published in France and abroad.
For the 14th edition, the Festival des Architectures Vives in Montpellier will take place from June the 11th to the 16th 2019. The festival thematic is Beauty. The FAV will keep to aware a wide public to architecture, to highlight a young generation of architects and to discover places from the urban heritage.

The invited design competition aims to explore visions and urban schemes envisaging the re-articulation of manufacturing areas in the territory in-between Mestre and Marghera industrial area.

In a condition of radical transformation of labor and productive activities, among the ones that are suitable for Marghera areas, some relevant processes seem to be more feasible and innovative. They consist of the increase of the level of digital content within enterprises, the profound innovation in the manufacturing sector, the inclusion within circular economy processes, the ever-increasing sharing of services and equipment that become places for urban sociality.
