The highly anticipated Architours returns in 2015 with newly curated journeys featuring award-winning as well as hidden gems in Singapore.

The two-week-long festival features more than 30 events including special curated exhibitions, Architours to explore hidden architectural gems; Archifilms featuring quintessential architectural films and documentaries; interactive model-building installation We Build This City; forum WHY ARCHITECT? to share insights on how to realise your dream home; design workshops Scratch The Future for kids and an arresting series of photographs documenting Singapore's land spaces in digital art exhibition Plot, by celebrated photographer Caleb Ming.

London-based Serie Architects, in collaboration with Multiply Architects of Singapore, has unveiled its winning design for a Neighbourhood Centre and Polyclinic in Punggol, Singapore. Called Oasis Terrace, the project will become the new center for public amenities for Singapore’s Housing & Development Board in Punggol.

The design spans 27,400 square meters, of which 9,400 square meters will be comprised of healthcare facilities, while the rest will include “communal gardens, play spaces, gyms, retail spaces, dining, [and] learning spaces,” all of which is expected to come together into “a new generation of integrated development.”

From its adventurous departure to today's worldwide architectural stardom, we will investigate the transformation and prospects of the city-state's curated architectural image. Defining methods and artefacts to represent the past and future of a city that never stops changing, the workshop will immerse itself into the existing condition of Singapore.

Group8asia is nearing completion on a first-prize winning proposal that is meant to revive the concept of public housing in Singapore. The Punggol Waterway Terraces, so named for the river on which they’re set, will be a sustainable community that aims to echo the utopic exuberance of Singapore’s first housing developments in the 1970s. Arranged around central courtyards, these high-rise apartments hope to create a sleek, graceful skyline that contrasts with the verdant greenery of their landscape.
