Buildner, in collaboration with building materials manufacturer Kingspan, has announced the winners of the MICROHOME Kingspan Edition, awarding a total prize fund of 150,000 EUR. This year's competition, now in its seventh edition, attracted professional and student architects and designers from 115 countries.

Niterói will host the exhibition "Let Limits Collapse, Let Forgotten Distances Appear," opening on October 5 at the Espaço Cultural Correios. The exhibition features Alberto Saraiva, Enéas Valle, Lígia Teixeira, Marilou Winograd, Mario Camargo, Mark Engel, Marcelo Palmar Rezende, and Petrillo. Curated by Mario Camargo, the show offers an immersion into the artists' poetic universe, reflecting on freedom and providing a profound look at the human existential condition—specifically their own. The curator notes that "being an artist is a state whose meaning is composed of layers, material techniques, forms, and colors, in a constant overflow of sensations."

As individuals, we all have the power to create a more equitable and compassionate world. The 67th Year Annual NASA Design Competition, organised by the National Association of Students of Architecture, India, is designed to inspire participants to go beyond conventional design thinking. Moderated by Ar. Dean D'Cruz, it challenges you to craft not just spaces but environments that elevate humanity and promote inclusivity alongside positive change.

Purpose

This book offers an overview of the works designed, executed, and built by the General Directorate of Architecture of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires between 2016 and 2024. This period is distinguished by the formation of diverse teams of architects who, despite their significant professional backgrounds, had in most cases not previously held high-ranking public positions.

This year's edition of Open House Stockholm will take place from October 4 to 6, 2024, and expand its scope to showcase a wider variety of architectural sites across Greater Stockholm, offering a unique opportunity to explore both contemporary and historic buildings. The festival offers access to diverse spaces that are typically closed to the public, bridging the gap between modern architectural developments and historical landmarks.

Additionally, an audio tour will be available during the festival weekend, offering insights into architecture and urban planning from an LGBTQ+ perspective, exploring how different groups experience and interact with the city.

This year, Open House Bilbao introduces a range of activities designed to engage participants of all ages and backgrounds. The festival's programme is structured around six key actions: WALK, TALK, DESIGN, PLAY, SEE, and VISIT. On Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 4:00 PM, artist Panmela Castro will present the premiere performance "Revanche" at the Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR). In this performance, Castro confronts the impositions of compulsory femininity, inviting the public to witness a reckoning with a four-meter-tall pink bear. The bear is part of the exhibition "Radical Ideas About Love," which remains on view through November 24, 2024. It has been a major attraction of the show, with visitors interacting with it since the exhibition’s opening.
