FAU UFJF Competition

The Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), in the exercise of its authority, announces the opening of a PUBLIC COMPETITION for the complete Basic Architecture and Urbanism Project and its complementary preliminary designs for the construction of the architectural complex intended for the headquarters of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (FAU-UFJF). This competition will be held in two stages. Both stages will follow the conditions established in the official call for entries, as follows:

In keeping with a tradition dating back to 1969, the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile is calling for nominations for the 2024 National Architecture Award. This is the highest honor an architect or architectural team can receive in our country. According to the Regulations for Awards and Distinctions, the award recognizes individuals "whose career and ethical and professional performance have set an example for all architects, in any manifestation of professional practice, whether in the field of architectural design, academic work, professional association involvement, public service, or management."

Creative Factory: Open Call

If your company is creative, innovative, and technology-driven, apply to Corfo's new "Factoría Creativa" program. The initiative features two calls for entries—Factoría Inicia and Factoría Escala—offering co-financing for up to 80% of the total project cost.

12th National Architecture and Interior Design Award AAI Mexico

For the past 12 years, AAI México (Association of Architects and Interior Designers of Mexico) has presented this national award to celebrate and promote authentic Mexican design.
Thanks to the autonomy of the AAI, the award is independent of specific canons or corporate interests. All projects that meet the requirements of the call for entries are welcome, whether built or virtual, and whether they originate from emerging firms or established practices. There is a place for everyone here.
Each edition features a completely impartial jury, typically composed of prominent figures from the academic or industrial sectors. We are committed to fostering diversity of thought.
For this 12th edition, the jury will consist of:
- Arch. Gerardo Broissin Covarrubias (Director of the Faculty of Architecture at Universidad Anáhuac México, Tecamachalco campus)
- Arch. Gonzalo Pérez (Coordinator of Postgraduate Studies at the Faculty of Architecture at Universidad Anáhuac México, Tecamachalco campus)
- Arch. Paola Morales Orantes (Coordinator of Architectural Projects at the Faculty of Architecture at Universidad Anáhuac México, Tecamachalco campus)
The call for entries includes five categories: Residential, Corporate, Restaurants, Hospitality, Recreational Spaces, and Special Projects. Details regarding the types of projects eligible for the Recreational Spaces and Special Projects categories can be found on our website or in the official call for entries.
This edition introduces a new category: Sketch. This category is for those who appreciate freehand drawing, as we also believe in the power of traditional drawing.
The call for entries is now open and will close on May 19th, with no extensions.

EMPORIA: 2023 National Award for Ephemeral Architecture in Colombia

The EMPORIA award recognizes ephemeral projects across various sectors, including museums, exhibitions, trade fairs, retail spaces, festivals, sporting events, and conceptual or experimental architecture. The common denominator for all entries is that the architectural work must be ephemeral.

Fugaz Festival: Ephemeral Installations Competition in Concepción

Festival Fugaz, an urban intervention festival in Greater Concepción, seeks to recognize the territory as a space of diverse cultural expression and identity. Through a series of artistic activities, it promotes community occupation of public space, aiming to foster citizen participation in open cultural events and revalue the physical heritage of Greater Concepción as essential settings for urban life.

CICOP Chile Award 2022: Architecture Thesis Projects

CICOP Chile invites architects who graduated between October 1, 2019, and September 30, 2021, from any architecture school in the Latin American countries where the International Federation of CICOP Centers has national chapters—Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Chile, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay—to participate in the CICOP Chile 2022 Award. Entrants must submit final degree or thesis projects developed with a focus on the intervention of buildings, building complexes, or areas of heritage value, regardless of whether they are protected by national regulations.

Call for Applications: Active Design Platform Residency Program Open Call

The PAD Residency Program is a six-month program in which six creatives (open to designers of any discipline and architects) develop a socially focused design project involving research, development, experimentation, and prototyping. The program includes mentorship, oversight by the Department of Multidiscipline and Design, and designated use of the PAD (Plataforma Activa de Diseño) space located in the Arroniz Building (headquarters of the Jalisco Ministry of Culture) in downtown Guadalajara, Jalisco.

Call for Applications: "Pad Jalisco: Intro to Design" Open Call

Pad Jalisco: Intro al Diseño is awarding 10 grants of MXN$30,000.00 each for the development of a design workshop aimed at children and adolescents. The workshop must be held in a municipality in Jalisco, outside the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area.

21st UIC Academic Competition for Schools of Architecture

Architectural Design Competition: CMAC Huancayo Institutional Headquarters

The Caja Municipal de Ahorro y Crédito has launched a call for entries for the "Architectural Design Competition: Institutional Headquarters of CMAC Huancayo S.A.," committing to the enhancement of heritage assets located within the monumental zone of Huancayo, which are currently capable of being restored and transformed into a testament to the past through new uses and functions.
