In keeping with a tradition dating back to 1969, the Colegio de Arquitectos de Chile (Association of Architects of Chile) is calling for nominations for the 2022 National Architecture Award. This is the highest honor an architect or architectural team can receive in the country. According to the Regulations for Awards and Distinctions, the prize recognizes individuals "whose career and ethical and professional performance have set an example for all architects, in any manifestation of professional practice, whether in the field of architectural execution, academic work, professional association involvement, public service, or public management."
The selection process for the National Architecture Award—notably the only national award granted by an institution outside of the State—values "along with built work, professional or public activities for the benefit of the profession, academic activity as well as outreach, the public significance of their work, and the ethical performance of their professional activity."
As stipulated in our regulations, "candidates must be nominated by at least 10 active members of the association, who will be responsible for submitting the necessary documentation for the nomination. It should be noted that these signatures must be exclusive; therefore, each member may support only one candidate or team per edition."
