More about this product

The Das Maximum Museum is a display space which showcases contemporary artwork. To create a space fitting for such a program, the architecture group Brüderl GmbH & Co renovated a 1930s German industrial complex into a modern light-filled museum hall. In collaboration with Dutch window company VELUX, the architects successfully transformed the building into an inviting space with unique lighting conditions.

Design Concept

One of the primary goals during this renovation was to ensure sufficient natural light to properly display the artworks. To achieve this, 100 VELUX Ridgelight skylight modules were used in various ceiling locations throughout the structure. With the angled Ridgelight openings, Das Maximum Museum is filled with generous daylight and provides a different experience for viewing artwork from traditional museums, which primarily use artificial lighting.

The project incorporates 100 total Ridgelight modules which allow daylight to enter the exhibition space through 25m long panels. Eight of the skylights include remote operation to control shading and ventilation.
