Concéntrico 06 launches competitions for a pavilion and two interventions in 2020

Concéntrico 06, the International Festival of Architecture and Design of Logroño, will take place from April 29 to May 3, 2020. The festival invites reflection on the urban environment and the city through architecture and design proposals in various formats.

To this end, the festival is launching three international competitions for three specific sites. The objective is to create a Pavilion in the Plaza de Escuelas Trevijano and two installations: one at the Paseo del Espolón and another at Viña Lanciano for Bodegas LAN.

5th Latin American Meeting: Introduction to Architectural Education

The 5th Latin American Meeting on the Introduction to Architectural Education, hosted in the city of Concepción, Chile, is an invitation to all faculty members of architecture schools across Latin America. This edition will feature professors from as far north as Mexico and as far south as Argentina. The congress aims to strengthen and expand the network between Latin American architecture schools to train the architects of the new millennium, while creating a space for reflection on successful teaching strategies with a renewed focus on achieving meaningful learning.

Marta Scheu Torres Award 2019 opens call in Chile for outstanding women in architecture and urbanism

The Institute of Architecture and Urbanism at the Austral University of Chile (UACh) invites all architects in Chile to apply for the Marta Scheu Torres Award. ArchDaily is the official media partner for this competition, which aims to recognize outstanding women professionals in architecture and urbanism.

Established in 2016, the award was first presented in 2017 to Macarena Almonacid for her fruitful work in the restoration of the churches of Chiloé. In 2017, it was awarded to Emelyn de Los Ríos, National Coordinator of the Public Spaces Program at the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism.
