The fourth edition of the International Forum of Urban Interventions (FIIU) will take place this year in Lima from August 5 to 11. The event has launched an open call for collectives, students, activists, organized citizens, and private or public institutions to participate by sharing their initiatives and projects on one of the region's most important stages for urban interventions and public space.
Through the 20x20 Presentations, applicants can share their experiences regarding the process of their urban intervention, highlighting the problems, conflicts, knowledge, solutions, and practices that contribute to citizen engagement with their cities. These submissions must focus on at least one of this year's five thematic pillars: Environment, Gender, Childhood, Mobility, and Gentrification Processes.
The exposure and visibility gained by the selected interventions and collectives will be enriching, as the forum serves as a regional meeting space featuring participants and speakers from institutions with a global reach. Furthermore, this year the FIIU will host the 3rd meeting of Placemaking Latin America, which for over two years has brought together more than 1,000 professionals and activists from countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, the United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela.
