Revista Restauro, an independent journal dedicated to publishing articles and interviews focused on the preservation, conservation, and restoration of cultural heritage—including artistic, museological, architectural, and urban assets—will launch its first print issue to celebrate the electronic journal's third anniversary.
On November 19, Editora Escola da Cidade launches Um guia de arquitetura de São Paulo: doze percursos e cento e vinte e quatro projetos [A Guide to the Architecture of São Paulo: Twelve Routes and One Hundred and Twenty-Four Projects], organized by architect and professor Fabio Valentim. The book presents a selection of significant works from the recent history of modern architecture in São Paulo and its subsequent developments.
On November 26, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the fourth and final meeting of the Portas Abertas (Open Doors) program, hosted by Escola da Cidade, will take place. The program is intended for prospective students interested in enrolling in an Architecture and Urbanism course.

1st Meeting on Neuroarchitecture to be held in Lisbon
Mercedes Viegas Arte Contemporânea will open the exhibition "Adalberto Mecarelli – Luz +" on December 12, 2019, at 7:00 PM for guests, and the following day for the general public. The exhibition features works by the artist, who was born in Terni, Italy, in 1946, and has been based in Paris for 50 years. This is the first exhibition in Brazil by the sculptor, whose abstract constructive approach is noted for research into light and shadow and solar light recordings. Their work is featured in various public spaces across European countries, including France, Italy, and Germany. "The exhibition primarily presents light sculptures that engage with the gallery space—geometric forms sculpted by shadow," notes curator Elisa Byington, who selected works by the artist spanning various techniques and materials.
About the Book: The second expanded edition of the book Remanescentes da Mata Atlântica presents, in an even broader and more compelling way—with nearly 200 new images—the visual history of this biome, which dominates Brazil's entire coastal landscape and has been devastated throughout recent history.
The 8th {CURA} Prize continues the initiative of hosting idea competitions on themes aligned with current discussions in architecture, the city, and society, with a focus on contemporary Brazil. In a national and global context facing the many consequences of the global climate crisis, this year’s competition theme is Collective Housing for the 21st Century.
