As an update to our recent post about the ‘Richard Meier – Architecture and Design’ Retrospective Exhibition currently taking place until July 28 at the Fondazione Bisazza in , , the first images have been shared with us. The exhibit includes several iconic, current and recently completed projects by Richard Meier & Partners, in celebration of the company’s 50th anniversary. ‘Richard Meier – Architecture and Design’ Retrospective Exhibition

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Richard Meier’s architecture career, Richard Meier & Partners Architects, in collaboration with the Fondazione Bisazza from , are presenting the first Richard Meier Retrospective in Europe, titled ‘Richard Meier – Architecture and Design’. Taking place May 8-July 28, the new exhibition will be a retrospective of the American architect’s iconic work and the unveiling of a site-specific installation for the Foundation’s permanent collection. Meier’s oeuvre is a reflection of the continuous search and analysis of concepts perfected over more than half a century of constant work in the field of architecture and design. ‘Experimental Growth’ Arik Levy Exhibition

The Bisazza Foundation is currently exhibiting the site-specific architectural installation by Arik Levy, which will be on display until December 21 in . Dedicated to the Israeli designer , with the title Experimental Growth, the exhibition comprises a structural modification to the architecture of the Foundation, a macroinstallation called Rock Chamber and a video created especially for the event, titled Virtual Truth. Nardini Grappa Distillery “Bolle” / Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas

The Nardini Grappa Distillary was completed in 2004, designed by Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas in , Vicenza, – the first impressions of the complex are two otherworldly inflated disks hover over a pool of water. Supported on stilts, the glass and steel envelope reflects the water below. Visitors stroll over paths that criss cross over the pool. A descending ramp leads into the 100-seat auditorium below, forming a natural canyon. Underwater lights illuminate the surface, creating a shimmer across the grounds of the distillery and reflected in the floating volumes above.

FGMF wins the Internazionale Dedalo Minosse award

The FGMF architects office, under the command of the young architects Fernando Forte, Lourenço Gimenes and Rodrigo Marcondes Ferraz and placed in São Paulo, Brazil, has just won one more international award: “The international award Dedalo Minosse”-“Prêmio Internazionale Dedalo Minosse”, delivered in , , on June 24th 2011, at CISA (Andrea Palladio Centro Internacional de Estudos de Arquitetura – Andrea Palladio International Center for architecture studies). This is one of many awards received by FGMF, being the most awarded architecture Office in Brazil in the year of 2010. More information on their award after the break.

The Dedalo Minosse International Prize for Commissioning a Building

ALA-Assoarchitetti is an Italian Association aimed to represent and promote rights and professional, economic and cultural interests of self employed architects and engineers. The most important activity that ALA promotes, Dedalo Minosse Prize for Commisioning a Building, has been opened since October 11 and will close January 11, 2011.

This competition is unique among international awards programs for honouring the client’s role in the design process. The prize recognizes the contribution of the client’s vision, openess, flexibility, and commitment to good design. After just seven editions, the Dedalo Minosse Prize for Commisioning a Building has already become one of the most important architectural awards in the world. In this moment they are working for the 8th edition that will be awarded on June 24th, 2011 in , Italy where there will be four main prizes and other several awards according to the rules of the Prize.
