AKK Architects, an architecture practice founded by architect Annabel Karim Kassar, with offices in Beirut, Dubai, and London, is transforming a historical 19th-century Lebanese home into a contemporary family home. Bayt K was shortlisted for the WAF future projects awards under House category.

LocHal Public Library Named 2019 Building of the Year at World Architecture Festival

The World Architecture Festival invites shortlisted architects from around the world to present their projects in a range of categories, the winners of which are invited to present in front of a Super Jury for final selection.

In the 2019 version of the festival, LocHal Public Library by Civic Architects has been named the World Building of the Year concluding this year's three-day event in Amsterdam. This year's winner was selected from a strikingly broad shortlist that included works from offices such as Heatherwick Studio, CEBRA, Nikken Sekkei, and Roger Stirk Harbour + Partners.

The 2019 WAFX Winning Schemes

The World Architecture Festival (WAF) is an annual architectural event, celebrating international projects that tackle today’s global issues. Ten innovative designs have won the 2019 WAFX prizes, each one in a category.

Elizabeth Diller and Studio Fuksas Join Line-Up of Speakers at World Architecture Festival 2019 in Amsterdam

Elizabeth Diller, Founder and Partner at Diller Scofidio + Renfro, will give the closing keynote address at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) in Amsterdam on 6 December 2019. She will follow a stellar line-up of over 48 speakers shaping the global architecture agenda over the three-day event, including Ben Van Berkel and Doriana Mandrelli Fuksas and Massimiliano Fuksas. The festival runs from 4-6 December.

Architects grapple with some of the world’s most pressing challenges in the twelfth edition of the World Architecture Festival, the world’s biggest architectural awards programme, which announces its shortlist today.

Following the establishment of ‘Architects Declare’ a collective of some of the most renowned practices who have come together to announce a state of climate emergency, this year’s World Architecture Festival shortlisted entries include designs that demonstrate how buildings can play a major role in a more sustainable future.

World Architecture Festival 2019 entry deadline is this Friday!

Entries for the World Architecture Festival close on Friday 3rd May. The 12th edition of the World Architecture Festival will take place in Amsterdam from the 4th to 6th December, where more than 550 architectural and design practices from over 68 countries are expected to compete for category and overall prizes.

The World Architecture Festival (WAF) has announced some of the most influential names in international architecture as the members of the jury for its 12th awards programme, which is to be held in Amsterdam from 4-6 December 2019.
