Located in Fort Worth, Texas, the Kimbell Art Museum by Louis Kahn has become a mecca for all who are interested in modern architecture. The element of natural light is the main focus of the design, and creates elegant spaces that are perfectly suited for the art that it houses.
Back in 2009 we published the Ílhavo City Library by ARX. Located in the remains of the Manor Visconde de Almeida, it’s a noble house from the 17th-18th century, that was later transformed and demolished.
The Luzern Stadtarchive is conceived as a marker in the landscape. XTEN Architecture‘s entry for a library competition in Switzerland the design was driven by orienting the public areas to the landscape, the site topography and adjacent mountains.

Mak Architects has submitted their proposal for the Kaohsiung Library Competition. The 38,000 sqm library, which will become the region’s main library, placed third in the competition. More images and a complete press release after the break.
